  1. didnt know mate ,foxes arent my thing ,just in the right place at the wrong time.thanks ill keep it in mind allthe same atb carl. Could even be a reason to get an FAC - lots of rabbits + fox numbers atb
  2. Just be careful with taking foxes with your dog, if your dog goes off on the scent of a fox and kills it theres nothing you can do and the law reflects that so for that cub you were fine, but if it can be proved that you set out to deliberately take the fox with your dog (and I do know that its not easy to prove) then you would fall foul of the law. Sorry if ive put a bad note to your thread, but wanted to make sure that you knew. Beside that it sounds like you got a cracking little permission over there and keep up the rabbit control Atb Ratty
  3. You are wrong, that is not a bull barrel and with a bull barrel you still need a darned silencer. See my post for a BBC photo! oh...i didnt know that never mind i do now thanks moley...What does a bull barrel actually do then?
  4. i might be wrong but it looks like its got the bull barrel? - no need for silencer
  5. they are also pretty easy to clean aswell.....tbh if the current model went on the market now under a different name it wouldnt get the dodgy reputation that its got now
  6. they are a true marmite gun you'll either love it or hate it i get on with mine but some dont
  7. Out of interest duncan, do you have a biology related career, or areyou just an expert on corvids? I've always had a deep affinity for the natural world since I could walk, talk and read. I like to know what I'm culling and why I'm culling it - keeps me on very stable moral ground when I head out with a gun or rifle good on you too many people these days seem to shoot without really having any interest about its benefits the the ecosystem and its wider effects

  9. Aaah very interesting... tbh im a bit like Miroku moocher, pop them whenever i can, dont always shoot the jackdaws though they never seem to cause quite as much damage atb Ratty
  10. why not order them from the company, just had a quick look at their websiteand it looks like there doing free holiday shipping
  11. ouch. next time point him in the direction of the wrong field for a laugh
  12. Suffolk, never heard of brancher day though??
  13. Also if the fields arent grazed at this time of year you might get a few dropping onto clover and also some wild flowers worth a try - I was out trying to bring a few into clover with the air rifle yesterday but with no success its a bit different to using the shottie, but if you can perfect it then you can probably get permission on the fields where the farmer's normal pigeon shooters cant go with the shotguns because of the noise Let us know how you get on Atb Ratty
  14. Honestly I did know that i just have a habit of refering to crows and rooks as crows (dunno why because i still call jackdaws jackdaws) but i still think rooks are pretty tough to get atb Ratty P.S. We have a problem with the ROOKS taking the eggs from our chickens in spring which is a pain when you're trying to recover the cost of feeding them over winter when they stop laying
  15. well done bud crows are never easy atb Ratty
  16. haha on one of my first times decoying pigeon one landed in the oak that i was set up under and started calling so I thought I'd have a pop at him and he must of only been about 8' away when I fired all i found was a wing and 2 legs (not attached)
  17. go on show us a pic of the rat sounds like you had a good shoot though atb Ratty
  18. Hi all been in the market for a cheaper double barrel .410 for a little while and hammer guns seem to go for a lot cheaper then hammerless. Friend who shoots used to have one and said that the amount of times he accidently fired it whilst de cocking the hammers made him sell it but I've always though that you should break a hammer gun before decocking the hammers. Also do the hammers get in the sight line when taking crossers (I would be using it for general vermin including the odd woodie) and also do you see many single triggers on hammer guns? Sorry if theres lots of dull questions
  19. sound good fun, I always think a woodie with an airgun is that little bit more rewarding then with the shottie atb Ratty
  20. tbh the best thing to do is put a larsen trap out because they are very wary, but then again this makes it even better when you do shoot one atb Ratty
  21. Dont bother with one of the expensive ones either, I got a 50 quid show deal and it works fine, I normally just whack on some dead birds once I get a brace because that is when they really work atb Ratty
  22. yup happens to me too, it doesnt half make you jump the first time you notice it though
  23. I also notice that if i look down my barrels after a dozen carts say then the barrel appears just as if not more dirty then after 100 or so and sometimes i think it might be that once the barrels start warming up and a few shots have been fired it almost cleans itself if that makes sense, although that could just be my eyes..
