    try watching a few fieldsports britain episodes (just google it) and some of the stuff that you pick up on there is really useful and the viewing is really interesting with all the other stuff they do, pigeoning will come up every couple of weeks. I take it from your post that your shooting let you down a bit this time. I can tel you that i know exactly how you feel and its so easy just to get yourself wound up about the misses and just end up bogged down and not being able to hit a thing out of frustration - it happens to all of us normally i just slow things down, maybe let a few hard but st

    dont sell, you can manage at this time of year with out flapper and rotary (although you may be at a loose end on layed corn....but that wont be long left now) make some bouncers out of hazel (im sure there will be some vids on youtube) and get out and gain some experience. You could even try decoying to your airrifle, its very hard but also very rewarding and will make you a brilliant decoyer. Either way that's my opinion and i was in your position about a year ago. You might want a flapper or rotary for the OSR early next year but im sure you can find something else to sell by then atb R

    go to your local CWG or Mole valley farmers they nomally stock them at a reasonable price if your only ater 10 or so

    Now i'll just say that i havent got as much experience as a lot of people on this forum, but i find that patterns tend not to be an exact science because when I was starting out I must have read hundreds of articles, books, documents and post on patterns decoys and all that but the most successful thing that I have found is a rough group with at least one large space to land in, and that works fine for me and yeaterday I had a go with my airrifle for a change on a bit of clover unsuitable for the shottie - wasnt busy land pigeon wise, had but managed to get 1/2 a dozen to land briefly and shot

    I use a 65lb sea fishing trace in the set up used in the article and it works fine, although one of them chewed through this when it was caught around the body so if the are chewing out of it i'd suggest that you're setting the loop too low and getting them around the body Hope this helps

    Now this may well be a load of rubbish, but I'm looking at sending in my application at some point in the near(ish) future and am debating as to what slots to apply for and I think that I could have a use for an FAC air, and im sure ive heard somewhere that with FAC air it is slightly differently then other firearms in that you dont have a closed ticket, and so land doesnt need to be checked beforehand. Now as I said this may be a load of rubbish but thought i'd take the oppurtunity to ask now Atb Ratty

    now im not an expert mole catcher, i just catch any that come on to our smallholding, but i dont think i do too badly as manage to catch most moles the come onto our turf, but i read a book last year about molecatching and in there it mentioned that if you leave the tunnel open for too long or dont cover it up properly then the mole will smell the fresh air and fill in that tunnel as a defense mechanism against weasels and stuff...as i said im no expert and that is just something i read in a book but to my mind it makes sense atb Ratty

    mink?, or it could just be a big rat cos they will get absolutely massive especially if near a river/lake or if they been on high protein animal feeds, pellets etc
