  1. Newark Shooting Show 26th feb. like heaven on earth for a shooter worth travelinglast year got a wirly inc. battery for £45
  2. I'm not entirely sure but I think you would be ok with it out just thinking bout some people take the forend off their shotties or the bolt out of their rifles and put it somewhere safe atb Ratty
  3. I've had it with a kestrel before - they come down with quite a force cos made really loud noise when it hit the coy - was surprised it didnt snap in half
  4. do you zero like that because if you dont that could cause a POI change because of the vibrations changing on discharge
  5. With regard to the wind thing what you have to remember is that you trajectory isnt straight so for som of the flight your shot is going slightly upwards and for some slightly downwards - obviously this is a minimal affect but over these ranges would have sufficient effect to make a differance, especially if you slightly pulled the shot aswell or something
  6. I reckon that the best bet would be to import - lots of paperwork but at least you know that your within the law
  7. if they do anything they should have a full reform of the licensing system, not tighten the laws, just to simplify the system so that it is consistant between all the counties - at the moment if the laws were to tighten they would become excessive in some counties and not really have much effect in others. At least if the system was the same across the country then if the laws did tighten then the changes would be constructive because the politions might actually be able to understand what they are talking about
  8. Now we're just waiting for the mothers against guns and all that to start up with all their anti shooting rubbish
  9. I know you say to PM you for details, but it might help your sale if you at least tell us what type of trap they are Ratsmasher
  10. yh I belive you need FAC and tbh you'd be better off just applying for whatever rifle you need to do the job
  11. nice little mooch there sometimes I think the vermin can provide the best shooting of the lot atb
  12. yeah I can see that if you are always shooting off a bipod also I guess some of it comes down to personal preferance really cheers ratty
  13. sorry if this is just a load of rubbish but reading around (I'm just getting to know my facts on the FAC side of thingsbefore hopefully applying for my license at some point) I thoght that if you had a heavy barreled version if you end up firing a few shots quickly then the barrel doesnt heat up and lose accuracy? or doest it really matter on a 22lr?
  14. ryhope - is that £2.50 just from the local butcher or do you flog them yourself?
  15. £2.50 a rabbits pretty gd and well done 4 the bag mate
  16. now im no expet but I wouild say that unless you are shooting reds the 243 would be cheaper to feed (especialy if you are going to be shooting foxes with it) then the 270 but still cover you for all deer speicies
  17. look mate, this is a hunting forum - everyone on here shoots. There is no hope of getting a perm off here what you need to do is go around and knock on a few likely doors - dress smartly and be polite it will take a long time and a lot of work but thats what everyone else does. Putting posts on the for sale section offering "pest control" isnt going to work and is just wasting everyones - including time.
  18. sure rhere was a post on this bout a month ago apparantly its some windpipe disease which stops them breathing atb ratty
  19. same in my area bit of a pain because I dont have any lofting poles
  20. No its actually sticking down at the very end of the chamber - when I load the cartridge drops down to about1/4" from the bottom
  21. trouble was that I bought it at the Newark shooting show and the stall was based in yorkshire or something and a little far to go. it has a 3 year warranty and I've checked and I'm all good with terms and conditions of it and all that. I was a bit concerned about sanding a chamber because of proofing and stuff never done anything like it before Might give my local gunsmith a buzz and see what he thinks I'd rather have someone who knows what there doing look at it then try and do it on budget and mess it up thanks for all the advice atb ratty
