  1. Theres 2 members on here live in kirknewton... its no a big place... ...
  2. Im confused over this too... But i dont actually think there is a 'right and wrong' ... Some say if your right handed... you hold the catty in your left... and draw with your right.... And others say if your right handed you hold the catty in your right and draw with your left... I do the latter... Ive mates who do it one way... and mates who do it the other way... This was made to be held in the right hand... and drawn with the left..... .... im busy back at work now mate... so wont have any for a while i wouldnt think... ive some forks drying... but taking a littl
  3. Im lucky i live in a very safe area.... 8 ft fence at the back with barbed wire on top... And every fecker knows whos going in and out... My ferrets are in a 'bin store' ... so should i feel the need.... i can padlock them in... and the hutch doors wont open with the bin store closed... It wouldnt stop anybody hell bent on taking them.... but would slow them down enough....
  4. You good with it mate? ... Ive got the 'flip' down ok... But cant it the target ...
  5. Hey up... Got an aluminium core catapult for sale... Its got micarta 'palmswell' and fork tips and maple facings each side... Now... this is my first attempt at an ally core... and totally out of my comfort zone making this.... Therefore... theres a few blemishes around the aluminium.... Its bloody hard work without all the fancy machinery.... I tell you what though... Its strong... fits the hand a treat... and shoots true... what more d'ya want for hunting ... It made for the right hand... Banded with double theraband gold... 20>15mm tapered and a nice
  6. This takes place just down the road from me... the scotland one anyway... I know a few lads who have done it... a few times... and they said they thoroughly enjoyed it..... Ive been fcuked for a while with a snapped cartilidge in my knee... 2 ops and daily physio... and ill soon be fighting fit.... Looking to enter this one... along with a mate who only has 1 leg.... http://toughmudder.co.uk/events/scotland-2014/ Anybody give their opinions on what its like? ... Seems a little expensive to do pretty much what i do in work... when ive done something wrong ... but be
  7. Cass had excellent feet... i believe.... But since her accident she has gone a little flat footed... due to the shift of weight from 4 legs... to just the 3....
  8. I've got feck all constructive to add to this as I'm not soldier but got a mate who's high up in RAF Regt. and they obviously have to do their annual fitness test, he said exactly the same, loads of youngsters that have excellent cardio but no upper/core body strength. They can run miles in minutes and score high on bleep test but can't pull/press up for shit. Out of interest how strict are the army on press up/sit up form? The Royal Marines press ups are those elbows tucked into your sides ones, absolutely smash your triceps! I see a lot of people think they know what each exercise is but
  9. You will soon be over complicating yourself... Selection will be a breeze... run the 1.5mile in time... and dont act like a tiit.... and youll pass... When your looking to go to catterick for your 6months... Just do a mixture of training... running...pressups...situps.... I seen guys who only ran.. could do a 7minute PFT... but soon as you put weight on their back they would crumble.... An overall BASIC level of fitness will see you through better than just being able to run like Mo Farrah... You will get built up in all aspects... running short distances.... to longer
  10. That's all I'm planning mate. I dont want to fly through and piss everyone off but I dont want to come in dead on the time limit either. I'm aiming to stay with the front group of lads and if I finish being able to have done more then its just going to help towards phase 1 training Are you doing your training at catterick... or just your selection?
  11. Still do the 2.4km run... Pullups/ammo tin lifts etc have been swapped for carrybags and static lifts on machines and such... I think the bleep test is used in bad weather or if there isnt enough staff to man the route? ... He will be doing 26weeks at catterick as apposed to the 12week basic and then trade training ...
  12. Where are you going for your selection? .. Dont stress yourself too much about fitness... Get yourself at a reasonable level... and they will build you up from there ...
  13. Im sure these are older bulldogs... If so... we have snapped LOADS of them...

    Snow???

The local golf course.... groundsman will be fookin gutted if it snows any decent amount.... The grass still hasnt recovered on the slopes... from the tanking it took last christmas....
  15. Thats the way we feel mate... sick of the shiite cardboard g10's... Lads were using the jungles for tabs...wet/cold weather etc.... because the g10's are so crap... Which is shocking... them jungles have NO padding... and a mesh side....so let water in.... About time they got some decent footwear for uk training... Looking at around the 150 mark... Theres shiitloads cheapish on ebay.
  16. Standard issue now mate... lads can get them straight from the stores...
  17. Altberg have been given a contract to supply the army with these boots... must be making a mint from it ... There is other suppliers... but i cant remember them off the top of my head.... few unheard of names... But all the lads are opting for the altberg... Speaks volumes ...
  18. Didnt find out til last minute mate... Would have thought youd have been busy wrangling ferrets
  19. Got my new altbergs today... The guys in the factory say they are still made in yorkshire.... Good enough for me! .... Went for the defenders this time.... And feck me... they feel comfy... They come with a 'spacer' ... which you slip under the insole and fills the boot out that 5mm extra... which can make the difference between correct fitment..... rubbing and no rubbing.... Or so they told me ... Altberg are great boots!
  20. Now I know why the yanks have so much blue on blue! The enemy was left and he threw the grenade right! Thats probably where us Brits were on the flank...In the british army when doing live training on targets... you have a 'switch fire' target... which is a target out the way of the proceeding grenadeir... a safety precaution... but in real terms rounds would be feet/inches above his head as the support would be giving cover for his approach... At first i thought thats what it was... a switch target... due to the clusterfcuk and the accents.... But looking again... your right... target w
  21. Came across this guy on youtube.... He looks to be making decent stuff at a very reasonable price.... How thick is that multiplex? ... I see he sends 2 sets of extra tubed bandsets and 50bb's with each order.... Now i know the dankung tubing is dirt cheap...and the small bearings are cheap in bulk... But i cant see how hes making much money when you take the postage into consideration.... then the time it takes to make them.... Very good value for money if you ask me.... ...
  22. Just got an email off somebody i know who said their jill is in season.... The said jill stays in the house.
