Cheers for the advice much appreciated. I've been looking for a dry suit online and am going to order a GUL one, have got plenty of thermal gear already. Over the years have done most activities beneath the ocean and on top so am respectful of the sea and how it can catch you out which is why I am after a dry suit just as a precaution really. Am fairly new to kayaking but am surprised how addictive it is especially discovering new coves, bays etc that you can't get to on foot.

Yes I know Jim have known him for quite a few years was up his house the other night. We were looking at pictures of snipe and his other dogs he's still as bloody keen as ever he's always out and about. He's a good laugh and you can have a good crack with him. -

To tell you the truth I come from a pretty crap family lol and had nothing and no help whatsoever and have worked very hard in life for myself and am comfortable/happy and it gives me a buzz to help people out. People have forgotten how to be decent to each other everyone is just after what they can get nowadays lol, there are also a lot of jealous f***ers about too compared to years ago When I go away and don't take my Mrs and kids I take a couple of lads off other sites for a few days at a time and I don't ask for a penny in return as long as you are a good laugh and up for the crack. What’s the difference between average and very good dogs

Does rake not come on here anymore ? it used to make me laugh how people thought it was serious. I spend probably 2 or 3 months a year away with family every other weekend through the summer. I've taken quite a few lads out who are struggling for permission as I know how difficult it is to get your foot in the door. Took one chap a couple of weeks ago ferreting never met him before and when he turned up and introduced himself said he was Muslim which surprised me but to be truthful he is one of the most easy to get along with and genuine blokes I have met in a while and he gave me a -

No pal I only pop on here every now and again as too busy to tell you the truth just when I've got a bit of spare time. I used to pop on and read when people came on asking for permission folk said speak to what was his name Rake or Rakeabout as he is Lord of the Manor and has so much land I thought that was bloody brilliant. When I'm back at work as i work for myself will be too busy and have a million and one other hobbies -

I've got a lot more going on in my life than bickering over my dog is better than your dog. Was just pointing out that considering what it came from it just goes to show you can't judge a dog purely on its breed and yes it did have something special. I've always put a lot of time into obedience training and it wasn't just it's running but it's loyalty and eagerness to please. I was with old Harry Millward up north and even he mentioned how eager to please it was and easily trainable. Been in the hunting game for years and don't do competing I just enjoy being outside and seeing my dogs run. Ma -

A few years back a friend had a Hancock dog and it got out and had an accidental mating with.the most scruffy flea bitten mongrel you have ever seen. The woman decided to have the pups which is stupid I know but I said to a friend of mine I fancied the look of one of them and all my mates took the piss, this dog was 22.5 inches and the most loyalest dog I have ever owned it just couldn't do enough for you it just made catching stuff look easy. I can remember being up north with a few decent lads who knew their stuff and it just had something special that set it apart from other dogs and look w -
You're right there pal the hob in the pic come summertime is a bloody nightmare with other hobs. They are all sound for handling but I had a vasectomised hob who was probably 2 to 3 times his size but God knows how he used to get underneath him and flip him over had to separate them as he would have killed him or any of the other hobs think he had small ferret syndrome lol. For years and years I have picked the small lively ones to get to where I am now. A couple of chaps had one off me last year from Coventry way for bunnies think there was a group of them that went out old boys he

First pic is a hob it's one of four and probably the best ferret i have ever had he's only little but fook me he's a little grafted. Second pic is one of the small jills I work and the third pic is the little hunting team I took out today. Would you believe I bolted 4 stoats in one day!! That's more stoats than I've seen in the past 10 years lol. To say today has been a challenge is an understatement more things have gone wrong today than every days ferreting I've had put together lol doesn't help when you have had no kip and been drinking all night. Then last thing collar popped o

A while back I bought an Ocean Malibu 2XL and a couple of Ocean Malibu Frenzies all with wetsuits and buoyancy aids etc from a shop, they were only ever intended for family fun in the summer and me going off doing a bit of sea fishing. I have had some cracking days out sea fishing off my kayak and days out kayaking around the South Coast. They are currently stored at a boatyard next to the sea but I now find myself wanting to have the odd day out in winter and would appreciate any advice on what to wear for winter sea kayaking ie wetsuit or drysuit with layers etc. Also I bought a M

Night time ferreting and lamping vid
wilbs replied to Andrewreynoldshunting's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I do quite a lot of night time ferreting with a long net, I always get one of the smallest star light floats the mini ones and just tape it onto my Mk3 collar works a treat. My local fishing tackle shop thinks I'm mad for night fishing lol. You can't miss your ferret with one of those on -
Either this is one of the lads I already take out, Jake maybe lol.or you've got issues you keep posting rubbish that doesn't make sense. This is my last reply as I'm off out to do some ratting
-
Still haven't a clue what you are on about lol. Dog thieves are scum they just can't be arsed to put the time in. I don't need to go on Moochers am still trying to get to grips with this forum. Anyone on here who has time to keep posting b****cks I wouldn't say I have got much in common with them as too busy pal. It can be quite addictive though lol. My time is valuable and I use it wisely
-
Not sure what or who you are on about as am pretty new to these forums. If that's to me then word it so I can understand it and I will.give you a proper reply one only because I haven't got time for talking rubbish all night. I'm just on here to have a bit of banter with the decent lads
-
Big napper - no pal haven't heard a peep from him to tell you the truth have not long got in, gonna have some grub, chill out with the mrs and kids for an hour and then got a couple of ratting jobs to do tonight so been a bit busy and not had time to see if he had been on or not.
-
Mick is a nice chap and easy to talk to he's the only person I've ever known who can chat more than me lol. Me and the Mrs were going to pop into Micks along with our two kids for an hour then meet lurcherlad and then we were going up and over the back way on Kinder Scout but ended up staying at Micks for 2 and a half hours so.we only managed half of it and then the cloud closed in. Bloody lovely up.there. It wasn't a wasted journey as it's good for your lungs and body keeps you fit walking up there and all that fresh air.

Yes he sorted me something out Vin he is going to sort another spare long net out for me. I very rarely charge people for little bits and bobs as I am old school and would rather help people out than make a profit. It's a shame how the hunting game/general life has gone and how you can't trust anyone and when someone decent makes a genuine offer people are too quick to think it's too good to be true as there's not many decent ones left, have seen a couple of your posts and can tell you are just a normal decent down to earth chap and up for a bit of banter. The lad is stupid really a

UElchapo - I've never been on the Moochers site in my life and only knew about it through this thread today and won't be going on as far too busy with work, family and all forms of pest control, I only pop on here now and again as there seems some good lads on here. A lot of the time my kids come out with me but sometimes it's a bit too much for them. I mentioned Jim as I know he used to be on here and could vouch for me haven't spoken to him for ages. I work hard am a good family man and a decent chap and put a lot of miles in up and down the country instead of talking a good story I am

Just to let everyone know to save anybody PMing me Mick Dadd had the small jill off me and she will have plenty of graft
-
I just came on here as got a lot of land full of bunnies and know some or you lads are struggling so picked 2.or 3 of you out who seemed good lads as my Mrs family own a lot of land and various places and have offered to take them out but only lads with plenty of get up and go as I am out all night and day but not sure if they thought I was an anti or just too good to be true and they didn't even have decency to message me back so they have missed out on a cracking opportunity and offer is 100% legit with no catches.
-
That's not good is it I've never been on there as too busy with work, family, driving up and down the country and rabbiting just pop on now and again.
-
I have just driven from Derby to the Peak District to drop a small ferret jill off for lurcherlad1994 have messaged him a couple of times to let him know time and location but not heard anything from him. Am off to meet Mick Dadd to get some new nets etc if i don't hear from lurcherlad and if Mick doesn't want her then if there is anyone who lives near the Peak District ie Sheffield etc and who can meet me they can pick her up but no idiots and i want her to go to a good working home. She is a cracking little ferret from good working stock. If anyone is interested they can PM me.
-
Jim is a cracking bloke. Propper dog man . Puts the graft in. I.ve known him about 25 years . Same as myself. I. We're going up north 20 year ago with him. He don't like to lose a rabbit though lol.

Jim lol. Think he has bollox the size of a elephant lol.
