  1. Was out sea fishing yesterday with my kids, everything was going well, sun was shining, we had been out swimming, was catching a few fish, radio was on etc. Me and the kids got the shock of our lives some poor chap was floating face down in the sea and things had obviously gone wrong for him not going to say too much out of.respect for his family but shouted for help and a couple of passers by helped me carry him out of the sea and onto the beach which was difficult as waves were high and sea well choppy. Gave him CPR until ambulance arrived. Police said they would be in touch and let me know
  2. As long as you are happy with them. It's nice to see that little lads face he looks well proud. There doesn't seem to be as many youngsters getting into it these days. I always try to do my bit and encourage the young uns. I met up with some chap a few times his lad is as keen as hell but where they are from they are lucky to get one or two bunnies as theŕe are just none about so am taking them both to help me out on a place that is over run with them it will be nice to see his little face when he sees how many.there are. I try to leave them to breed during the warmer months but a f
  3. Have you seen how fiery my little hobs are? My kids handle them so they are as good as gold and with each other.but when they see another hob that is 3 or 4 times it's size you will definitely change your mind about how tough some of the little ones are. I have had ferrets.for 30.years and it still shocks me sometimes they are a bloody nuisance as you cant put them with bigger hobs as something switches in.them and it's kill or be killed mentality. People who ask me for one look.at you gone out when you tell.them. It's never been a problem for me before as never had big ferrets as i pref
  4. Cheers for reply Greyman it works ok putting a pic on a post just not in a PM. This is the pic I was trying to send to someone in a PM. ?
  5. In the past have been able to attach pics in a PM by just clicking on the paper clip and it would take me to my files on my phone have just tried to send a chap off here a pic of my baby ferrets and it just wants me to put a link or URL in. Can attach a pic of photos that I have posted previously on the forum. Not sure if I have changed something by accident or if it's something you can't do any more. Any advice appreciated as not great with this sort of thing. Thanks Wilbs
  6. As long as you're happy with them pal and they are doing their job that's all that matters. I know one thing you can certainly bang out some posts every topic you are posting on shows it's hot lol you're fingertips must be red raw.
  7. First of all pal I think you're crackers lol i dont come on here too much but you do make me laugh i can see you're ferrets are well handled and looked after to be able to do that which fair play to you spending time on them as I know some ferrets are not looked after but it just looks crazy as it's nothing to do with working them and not very hygienic lol. I could go and do it with any of mine but I've just never felt the need to lol and I've never seen anyone else do it in 30 odd years. All my mates think I'm nuts and up for a laugh but they would think I'd lost the plot if they
  8. At the start of this thread the chap asked about ferrets going through or up a ring ffs don't start putting those kind of kinky pics up ?
  9. You look like a 70s porn star with that tache ?? who is into ferret porn. The poor chap who started this thread when he.comes and has a look on he will think he's hit the jackpot with all the responses and it's just ferret porn pics lol
  10. Thats how I knew it was a 100% greyhound ferret with its witches nose lol. She was a bugger for getting stuck down the holes it was them long greyhound legs of hers. She held the track record for 3 years at my local greyhound track lol
  11. Our team this is a proper greyhound ferret pal, cracking worker fast as f*** think it were 32" to the shoulder best ferret I've ever owned got 287 rabbits out of a 2 holer with her - RIP Flash
  12. Shouldn't be wasting my time with this post but here goes and this will be my only post about stupid names for ferrets. There is nowhere in my post that i have said they are greyhound ferrets the chap mentioned something about fitting small ferrets through a finger ring i think he said, (I can't be bothered to go back to start of post) the big buggers you've got wouldn't fit through a hula hoop lol. I just said mine are a line of small ferrets not greyhound ferrets, not micro ferrets, not breakdancing ferrets or any other stupid name i have heard over last 30 odd years. Names don't make t
  13. Have just been having a chat with Mick on the phone and told him you were after his number he told me to PM it you across so will do it now.
  14. A few places I go it's pest control so they want the numbers down all year round which is not something I am keen on but last week I had to go and clear a load of bunnies off for a family friend and decided to take one ferret as.there were some lovely sets right out ideal for my young dog. I was only going for an hour or two and just by pure luck managed not to bolt any little uns out until last set, had a cracking day so decided to go again the next day which was the complete opposite a nightmare as every set had young uns in and that's all that bolted but I'm not into that so packed up and w
  15. I've got a line of very small ferrets you wouldn't fit them through your ring though lol. These are about as small as I would want to go though. There are a few chaps off here who have had one off me Flacko is one of them and there are a few others wanting one that I have promised them to. Here are pics of one of the jills and one of the hobs I mainly just work the hobs and also a pic of one of my hobs next to a decent sized male ferret. You would think as they are small they are timid but the hobs are a bloody nightmare with other hobs. A male ferret 4 or 5 times their size wouldn't last
  16. Never really been one for watching hunting videos etc but I do watch yours and have subscribed to your channel. Watching some of the dogs you have had and how they consistently get on the hedge side of them and flick them out into the field and work together as a team is very impressive. I've got my dog who looks just like your bitch he is really coming on well, but he's not yet using his brain he just steams through everything he should calm down in time. Happy hunting pal ?
  17. Well done Trev my little lad is obsessed with your videos he has just been watching one from a while back. It was a smallish whippet and a collie cross they certainly made short work of em, they are a joy to watch work and I have watched a few myself lol ?
  18. Couldn't agree with you more but think it's more his natural hunting ability and how quick he has picked it up as hes only been out a few timew rather than how big he is. As we all know sometimes it takes a while for a young ferret to know what there doing and they just skim over the top of the sets leaving plenty of bunnies that are deeper down I've been doing a lot of sandy sets today which have been quite deep and I've been checking on him with my Mk3 ferret finder on locate and he's getting to decent depths. I then dropped a couple of my older more experienced hobs after and he hasn'
  19. Those little hobs that I use a couple of years ago a chap called Sid not sure if he is on here did a 7 hour round trip just to grab a couple of small ferrets the nutter ? Ferrets are one of our best tools but I wouldn't drive 7 hours to get one lol.
  20. He's actually a lot bigger than what he looks in the pic but he does the job.
  21. Here he is next to my small hob. The bloke I got him from off here said they had been dumped. He will definitely make as good a ferret as I've ever seen, I've always thought it takes at least a season or two for them to know their job. He would have come in handy.a few months ago. I knew he was a decent one when I saw him keep popping his head up and going straight back down. Luckily I do a lot of bolting for the dogs or long netting as there is no way he is getting through a purse net he would struggle through a football net lol. I have done a bit of filming with him bolting to the dogs
  22. I've never personally been keen on big ferrets as you seem to dig more to them than smaller ones. Anyone who has had one off me off here will know I like my little albino hobs. I recently picked up a hob from someone off here a decent bloke who needed some ferrets rehoming. The chap who I rehomed it to asked if I would take it with me to give it some graft as there are plenty of bunnies where I am to help bring it on, I took it out today it's only been out a few times it was like watching an old experienced ferret work no messing about walking on top. I did some deep sets and it went righ
  23. When I spoke to him on the phone he was a right laugh and seemed like a decent enough chap lol. I'm not bothered about the catapult but I nearly offered him an S410 off a mate of mine its well used but still does the job and was going to see If he wanted it thank f*** I didn't. I've mentioned this before on here, some people might think why would you give away a scope for free but I had nothing as a kid just a tenner each birthday so I think it makes you a better person. When you have come from a rough family, grafted and done well for yourself and i am now sorted in life it gives you a
  24. There aren't many decent folk left now. If you want a decent catapult mate I've got a couple off some chap I know and you are more than welcome to have one. I did him a favour so he gave me a couple of good catapults
