There is some land not far from were I live owned by national trust, about 30 acers, I some times run the dog there on the way out to strech him out before going for a nights lamping. This land holds a few bunnies and a couple hares, there is a shortage of hares were I live so I dont bother them because it nice to see them about.Last night on the way home we stoped by a layby to gut our night catch, have a smoke and chat before I droping my mate off, while I was guting my mate was lamping over a gate farting around, he noticed two dead hares dumped in the hedge the other side of the gate, this

I was invited up to barnsley with old mog for a weekend of digging. the first earth we come to was a big old place that the lads knew well. After a debate whether or not to work it becouse of its size, one of the lads decided to give his dog a look through, after 15/20mins the dog could be heard baying but after 10min the dog came out, a second dog was entered and after a short while he could be heard baying and mixing a bit.so the digging began but after 30mins he come out with a few marks on his mussel then old mog was enterd.7hours she played her fox and when we broke through old mogs went

old mog has gone now over 12 years, lined once and she had two pups. Those days you did not breed for profit just for your own use, kept a dog back for my self, And give a little bitch to a mate in lancaster, she was doing well, but not long after we had a fall out. but the dog pup kept back did not do so well he ended up in my mates garden keeping cats from pigeon loft, I think cleanspaed still has some of her line.

what they say is, if water can get through a bedlington can, my dogs have never had any problems entering, and finding their quary. most are x bred with border or Lakie, you will be very lucky to find a pure working bedlington.
-
they make excellent workers if you get the right breeder ,there are a lot of cowboys out there, I have worked them for many years, and below ground there at their best. Would not recommend for bushing. Good luck.

first of all what you see in the pic is me calling the dog off his kill, you may say that is in possible but i can and know others that do, and for a dog to go to ground and kill and draw, well Ive been to many of farm were the farmer is loseing lambs, and the earth are inpossible to dig a dog that will draw is worth its weight in gold as farmers likes to see the culprit. and for showing dead animals its not for me as you dont know who is watching this site

To the mush gone to ground, let me tell you i am the owner of the dog in the pic, and if you new any thing about terrier work you whould not have made shuch a f*****g stupid comment like you have. the dog had done its job and usualy will draw it kill, but being a small earth i decided to break though so as we could go on to the next to save time, I have been mates and hunted with cleanspade for over 20 years and dug all round scotland and north wales. you whould not walk in our f*****g shadows keep your comments to your self untill you know what you are talking about. GONE TO GROUND, WHA

I have done a lot off digging around lancashire over the years, im shure there are some desecnt dog men around your area who whould, may be on your permission show you the ropes untill you can trust each other 9 times out of 10 it turns out a great friendship good luck.

You read a lot on this site "I am a newbie what dog should I get" etc etc, my advice before geting a dog would be to find a decent dogman in your area who would not mind you having the odd day/night digging/lamping or whatever youre choice in the hunting game is. To many young lads buy their dogs off any Tom, Dick or Harry, and soon lose interest after a short while. These dogs then end up being passed from kennel to kennel. I once read a message on this site: Tell Dave, the dog I sold him, and he sold to Jack, who then sold it to Pete, is doing well. This made me cringe! When I started many
