Ireland Objection System At Shanes Castle Fair
pollypocket replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
try this for an idea.. why doesnt everyone just be honest,,,,and enjoy the craic,,, maybe prize money could be giving wrong incentive,,, change it to a gift to charity of the winners choice,,,, ?? all this competitiveness could be leaving bad atmosphere as things do sometimes get a bit heated,,, just a thought,,, -

jealous are we kieron, i thought i was looking well to, give u ring later let u know how i got on in court today. -
who is running this show for george then,,is he running it for charity or his own back pocket,,, did he not tell north west felas that there wasnt enough money being pulled in at gate for him to take out of charities pocket. plus he hasnt paid for last years rossetes which was his only outlay . and then has cheek to try and run his own show , unless things have changed with a lot more transparency in handling of funds i dont think he would deserve any support, if you could clear this up i will take back this statement,

Ireland Where Are All The Obedient Working Lurchers?
pollypocket replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
,, you would be surprised how many would fail test to see if they were broken to stock never mind obiedience ? hope you get more entries would def be good for lurcher work , i know couple felas that have their lurchers like this but thry just arent into the shows or racing just working but good luck -
recognise that dog and your handwriting, you wont ruin them holding them back thats for sure see u in nut house gemma My pup is 14mths, didnt have much to shout about this season as he only caught about a dozen or so rabbits over a few trips out with the ferrets and hasnt even seen a hare yet, we will carry on mooching about the countryside during the sumner, not actively seeking game but if something edible sticks its head up its fair game.. I know his siblings are showing great potential but im in no hurry for him to do the same, hes still got more growing to do and the game will

Its not just a single handed fox dog im looking. yes there are lots of single handed fox dogs here majority of which have a lot of bull in them im not really a bull lurcher fan even though i have had a couple of gooduns myself. If i was to use lurcher over greyhound i would automatically be into 3/4 or finer. i like the deerhound temprament. Also the way things are going here the rough deerhound type lurcher isnt liable to draw the attention of a tight bull cross, its just my personal preferance. although what you are saying would be good enough if i dont find what im looking for thanks

tresspass in n. ireland is a civil matter between farmer and you. it will cost them more than you will get fined. you can only get done for tresspass if you refuse to get of land. also if you believed that you had permission youre ok, only criminal offence if you are tresspassing with the intent of persuing game, note the word intent will be in most charges, you cant get done for accidently killing fox or hare, although you can get done for intentionally causing cruelty if u arent seen to be trying to stop the dog from said act,get to know the law and loopholes. because the police men that

not a fan of 3/4 bred lurchers my area doesnt really suit them if my hunting ground was different then probably would. then again if i cant get the full bred working dog it might be considered. same critera would apply, doing fox and has already passed this trait on to a good proportion of whelps. i bred litter of collie crosses last year 7 mths old at min collie dog was used with hounds and done his fox well

Just wondering if anybody knows of any genuine working deerhounds that have a proven stud record when bred back to greyhound. by working i mean taking fox on a regular basis ,not hes out of a working line as his great grandad once chased a rabbit. not only work fox but has passed this trait on through to his pups. hpoefully in ireland as thats where im from. the greyhound bitch i have is proven and is very hard on fox she would put lot of lurchers to shame on red fela. deerhound crosses dont have good rep over here , i belive if bred right should give us a real good chance of getting that

Ireland BIRR CASTLE GAMEFAIR
pollypocket replied to Wetnoseman's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
good turn out and varriation of lurchers on sunday but why was there no fox dog and hare dog class available. its just that if you are gona show a working dog then i beleve that theese two classes are important to be included. maybe it was just an oversight wouldnt like to think the antis had anything to do with the selection of classes. apart from that excellent day I was the judge on the day -

DO you not think that the finals should be held at mourne show where it started. Instead of trying to belittle the event at the mourne show. get your own thunder and stop trying to steal somebody eleses
