    Use non slip tiles every time rather than concrete.Make sure they are non absorbent not clay type that have to be sealed.Have built and own a boarding kennels since 2000 and go for tiles ....just the cost....if you know someone in the trade go for it.

    £230 is hardly breaking the bank in this day and age for anyone who works for a living.Labradoodles ,cocckerpoos,cavisons and the rest of these dreamt up fashion fad mongrels are changing hands for £750+. With Hancock, if you want a genuine three quarter,five eighths or half cross collie he has some excellent healthy well bred pups, usually available...check his website.....hancocks lurchers. Worth a look

    What's wrong with a traditional collie cross or a bedlington cross....everyone has gone mad for the bull cross to the point where there will be nothing but in the next few years....depends what you want to hunt at the end of the day,and what you prefer

    Had a first cross bitch from ginger french in the mid nineties...very game...brill with the kids when they were young...took foxes no prob....poor on rabbits...lacked top end speed...stood 24''....would even catch out of the lamp

    they might slip into a hole though,i think there fantastic dogs at what they do and am not knocking them at all but i wonder how many he's missed with them slipping into a hole when maybe a more committed dog would of caught them?as i say a great film to watch and i enjoyed watching the pup from starting out to being the finished article on the last dvd,he would be a good lad to follow if ya were into ya terriers i would think I think there is a bit of terrier work on the first dvd...may have been more that wasn't shown!

    Considering it was amateur filming I thought the lad done a remarkable job...especially with the zooming in from some distance.....hence why some was missed...it wasn't like wildlife on one, that's filmed over a long period then edited .....and I think the two main ones on film were bitches ,not dogs...and the foxes didn't get away.Do you keep bull crosses by any chance...or something else? Those dogs do very well hunting them foxes on that vast open ground but on the other hand think they would fail to catch on smaller fields where the foxes would have a chance of getting away.     Had a first cross bull greyhound bitch from him when he lived in Lampeter..He told me the dam had won the Waterloo cup in one of the 's cups...just so happened I had the video and she wasn't in it.....not that it mattered whatsoever, but was a likable bloke. Bitch was an excellent fox dog, Is he still on the go?

Even doubled up they struggle to take the opportunity quick enough, any fox i my opinion would lap up that advantage and be gone. Good at what they do on that ground but definatly not fox dogs. i have never killd a fox so i wouldnt no but you say not fox dogs butt when i watched this film they killd the foxs over and over butt isn't a fox dog a dog what kills fox's

    I doubt the hound blood very much...they possibly give tongue cos they have run alongside the odd hound ,as seen on the dvds...

    Good to see someone who respects good dogs without trying to fault judge....As for the problem of getting bit...it's ok to get a few medals on your face,but if you can avoid it why not

    Fair enough about the different colours,but really they are border collies that have been bred and worked in wales,on the hills. But back to my original question,are they Hancock bred because nobody really seams to know for sure?

    The side of the head and the throat is the front end is it not,but it does not matter where they are grabbed as long as they are caught. I have owned both bull and collie crosses, both of which were broke to stock...but I know of a few bull crosses that are that keen to the point if they miss their quarry the are partial to a bit mutton. As for the dogs bred from welsh hill collies...that may be true...or is it a guess.I thought they were red and white...or is there merle in that line also?

    As for them jumping around jibbing in and out...that's called intelligence...why take bites when you don't need to...didn't see any getting away.Them dogs were class...probably not as hard as the hardest bull cross ever but could a bull x hunt up like that..I doubt it...they would probably wipe out half the sheep population on the fell...no argument they were proper traditional lurchers..simple as
