  1. Cheers Buster, Certainly makes sense, had a quick think about it with an AAS410k with a mamba, even as far forward it would be pushing it just a tad as said, had hoped to avoid a dedicated NV gun mind although that could be an excuse in future after a lamp

  4. Following some advice and having a chance to use a gun sporting the mamba's I've been intending to pick one up to accompany my AAS410K as well as potentially a lamping setup or NV, been intrigued by the Cobra Merlin GEN1 with DSA (£400) to accompany ether the 3-12x44RIR or 4-16x50RIR version (not entirely sure if it would only fit the x44) Anyone tired/rate them with this sort of setup? worth getting vs the basic LEDRay GL2/$ setup? one more versatile than the other?
  5. For a starter Air rifle I'd go for something like an Air Arms s410 (or the carbine version) started with the with the carbine myself not long ago and know many that use them in .177 also... great guns. Accuracy wise spot on.. was out @ 65 yards shooting at 20mm targets in strong winds (15/20) after some practice with expert guidance , so should keep you occupied. As for the rest FAC .243 + If I'm not mistaken for Deere, take a look at the FAC section and perhaps join basc for insurance etc?
  6. location? Pictures? :whistling:
  7. BACS seemed the way to go , In the process of signing up with them as well...know a few others using them https://www.basc.org.uk/en/join/airgun-membership.cfm
  8. Cheers Davy, Will take a look when the mods there get around to letting me in certainly looks the part. ATB, Charlie
  9. Having started with the aas410k .22 I've been pandering after getting a .177 for a while having recently had a chance to take an aas410k in .177 for a spin around the old downs pursuits HFT course courtesy of Davyt63 and comparing the scores (which are about with a pic of the motley crew somewhere here) And so the Question, AirArms S200 (mk2/mk3) + AA 10shot vs an AirArms S410 Carbine both in .177? Stats wise the S200 (mk3) seems to be slightly longer (overall 25mm) and weighs just a fraction more (0.25kg) and as ever the S410K is on the more costly side but starts with the 10 shot
  10. Well spotted, had meant to say "remainder of the magpies"... Think my fingers where somewhat ahead of the brain when typing that lot, can't unfortunatly edit it any longer
  11. , I'm out in Wanborough, just outside Swindon. Cheers
  12. Living on a farm has its benefits (for shooting at least ), plentiful nuisance quarry being one of them, unfortunately as ever the land owners (Parents) in this case however are rather against the thought of myself shooting live quarry un-aided/supervised (understandable) , granted newly entering shooting. However this was set to change, under the masterful guidance and tuition of our very own Davyt63 over the past months I have "learnt well the skills I must" through both HFT and live quarry which today where put into play alone. The need arose unexpectedly after a magpie tha
  13. Should have taken a picture earlier , just as I was leaving (typical) there were 7 sat in what was a perfect line.. no more than 1/2 yards apart .. 2/3 yards from a fence line. Would fit perfectly with a shot of a tape
  14. Cant knock the logic in that, and having seen one in action I'm of no doubt I'll soon +1 to future recommendations
  15. New to the forum so a bit of a hello in one. Going on some advice as to the GunTuff LRF to accompany an airarms s410 carbine .22 for better distance judgement to hopefully achieve better accuracy following an already successful calibration. The question being more so, are the "new" GunTuff's no longer 5-400... I can only seem to locate the 18-400 on JSR which I presume to be the newer version? @ £105 (more or less) any ideas?
