  1. Having been fairly quiet on the rabbit front for the number of weeks I've not bothered wandering out at night and flicking the lamp round for any signs of life, until early yesterday I decided to do so... caught two rabbits playing and left them to it... causing no harm?.... Wandered out today around 1am and clocked 14 of the buggers ... none bothered by the lamp nor me clomping about in the moonlight without glove/vial etc.. decided to grab the gun, poped on the NV and did the same again.. still none of the buggers moved and inch... As such the unlucky two below where shot at 10 yard
  2. Additionally BASC +1 ... get what you pay for at the end of the day and they are certainly fast and useful.
  3. Having Both I'm weighted toward the .177 both day and night, although I started with the .22 and am as others fond of the stopping power, although with my range estimation the .177 and I get along better. That said I'm Still after a LRF, so I suspect the .22 will soon rise again
  4. Haven't had one for a long while and not with quite as an impressive mark on the window but it does happen, had a few over the years hit the back bathroom window and one of the front windows on the old house. Fortunately before I had an air rifle, they tended to wonder around for a day or so seemingly lacking a head or neck as it had "compressed" on impact ... usually ended up as feathers on the lawn by morning.
  5. I thought that initially when looking at these add-ons (perhaps a viper/connect) however its easily shouldered as is and could be shot standing, although notice the Mamba could go forward a good inch on the mounts which when shouldered would give about 2" on the cheek piece (despite looking not looking that way) add a slip over extension to the mix and that could easily increase. The difficulty (for the non popeye'd of us) is the weight Indeed still concerned over their bold claims when compared to say a Pulsar n550 who's CCD I can't seem to get my hands on vs the somewhat bo
  6. The New Toy | Having got a new toy in the shape of a pulsar Challenger GS 1x20 with DSA and N1000AP IR Laser for the tidy price of £315 on the BBS (only 6 months old, and managed to register the 3 year warrantee ) I've been itching to give it a go. Initially impressed off the gun it did take a bit of adjustment when fitted to the mamba, something which is never in the typical useless manual and has you scratching your head for a while... after a bit of a search and a play on the kitchen table the solution: the fast focus needs to be turned out almost fully (5.5 turns out of 6 roughly)
  7. Just Recently picked up a Tracer LedRay Tactical 400 (400 lumen), complete kit and rate it highly... (would be my suggestion) works perfectly without the filters to the full 170m claim and cuts to around 120m with the red filter which is more than ample for me and the s410. Been rather impressed by it, using it with 10x mag with the sunshade (mamba), opted for this VS a P7 or similar after seeing the reduction in light a filter makes on such similar lamps, thus opting for something more powerful to compensate for the loss, rather than changing the bulbs to a red LED which is a tad defe
  8. Hey, No doupt there are a few on the bay (-RWS-Full-O-ring-Seal-Kit-/330587610242?_trksid=p4340.m263&_trkparms=algo%3DDLSL%252BSIC%26its%3DI%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%252BDDSIC%26otn%3D8%26pmod%3D170636723335%252B170636723335%26po%3D%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D1645754460158300315&_qi=RTM637056"]here), never hurts to have a complete kit set for spairs... Which reminds me need to order a set for the aa.. ATB, Charlie

  11. Having given up on the use of the maglight, I picked up the complete kit for a Tracer LedRay Tactical 400 (filters R,A,G,B, charger, 2x rechargeable, 2x disposables, mounts, covers , pressure switch... etc) for £103 in a nice box at the CLA game fair. First impressions being good in daylight and at night it easily reached its 170m claim, after placing the red filter on this dropped to 120m which was rather impressive for what is a small 400lumen torch. Hence opting for this rather than the smaller P range. Mounting to the gun was pretty simple although with the lack of windage/heigh
  12. Newest Gun, AAS410K .177 with a cracking walnut stock and new MTC Mamba SCB 4-16x50RIR Scope with the MK2 twink of my .22 AAS410k
  13. Saw the AAS510 double barrelled version at the CLA games fair.. must say that It does look like a shotgun with a barrel on top... can't imagine what would be going through a farmers head if he glanced you pull that out of a gun slip stating it was an air rifle . Would be interesting to see a buddy bottled aas410/510 as said. Look at the stock on this beauty
  14. S410 in .22 is a deadly accurate piece of kit, had it out to 65 yards with a small AGS scope while calibrating shortly after starting with air rifles and it being my first gun. As to the Reg suggestion for a 410, AA themselves at a game show made a rather fair statement in that "if the s410, 510, 200 .. etc.. needed a regulator... do you think they wouldn't already have one?" this holds true in that many that have fitted regulators have had caused issues because of it and soon remove them. Expect to pay around £450 for a good second hand s410 , lookout for the carbine version (S410k)
  15. At the end of the day police officers are people and are acting upon instinct as well as guidelines, the moment the gentleman in the video failed to answer an innocent question which could have been dealt with in moments , he sealed his fate. No one particularly likes to be lied to and can certainly identify when someone is attempting to hide something (that's why yas end up in the dog house - she knows) as such in a situation and culture in which we face such threats as terrorism they cannot be held responsible for leaving a stone unturned in the pursuit of ensuring a safe environment.

    CCTV

Signs are defiantly a must at every entrance to the area in which the cameras are monitoring which is correct. Licensing however is only required for instances of public space installations of CCTV and relates to the training of lisenced CCTV (SIA Licensed) operators meaning in short if the CCTV system covers public spaces.. such as ANPR cameras (motorways) or town centre cameras etc it must have a lisenced/aproved operator to maintain and mange the system which is mainly to do with security contractors it seems... (arround £245 /person for 3 years on SIA site) http://www.sia.homeoffi
  17. fitting I suppose it being a German name , great dogs I must admit in the right hands... I'm of no doubt that we'll get another if and when (ours being 4 and the coli 5), must say the temperaments are cracking, only downside is the hair malting... though easy solution though: Dyson Pet and wooden/tiled floors
  18. it's a great shame that many of these dicks get their hands on a perfectly good animal and destroy them... never had a problem with my two (strait backed alsation and a border coli) although neither are or have ever been aggressive when off lead, however can be rather defensive when on the lead... both are somewhat passive mind and both where trained. Thankfully the alsation is somewhat typically defensive (big song and dance) to those who she has not confronted before although never aggressive, defiantly makes the usual groups of chav's jog on as well as most other dogs .. the coli is m

    CCTV

so...if anyone's thinkin of going poaching in London, you better think twice You're missing my point, everyone knows this country is packed with CCTV, but is there much in the countryside? no i dont think there is many in the countryside mate..its not a major thing to do these days though.in fact take lab for instance,if he wanted to to set up a web cam he could quite easily do that and watch his birds on his laptop from the conmfort of his own home,if he hasnt already done it that is. That's why I'm thinkin there must be some legal thing that's preventing people from doing it
  20. thanks might give that a go what sort of grouping are you getting at 35 yards? Also 35 for the .177 AAS410k, as to the grouping, you should be looking for a fingernail/thumbnail ( 5p coin (good)/ 2p coin (acceptable)) on a 5 shot group.. should be manageable with a bipod
  21. Hopefuly if i can drag myself out of bed at 4:30am i will be going for a few hours tmorrow morning (Monday) before work will try and get some more pics up, that's if i get anything as for the S410 well Awesome!! Equally Grats on the Squirrels and welcome... Will second that the S410k is a cracker of a gun, Got 2 of them now both as deadly accurate as each other! very nice gun to have and start with (did so myself) ATB, Charlie
  22. New rifle, CCTV!? and a bit of improvisation. Not expecting much to be about after keeping a fairly lax eye out this afternoon for any signs of life, I decide to turn in (2:20am ish) as ever I decided to have a quick flick around on the CCTV. After seeing everything had been locked, I flicked to the cameras watching over the animals fields.... little to my surprise there sat the culprit for the holes that had begun to appear, fully illuminated by the IR. Not wanting to give the game away, a quick change and check he hadn't moved and off out the door I set, Taking with me the AAS410k
  23. Having done airsoft few times "properly" at a club this certainly sounds interesting, especially the Hitpoint's or Survival type game... I remember something similar in which each player was assigned a coloured ribbon (Velcro) that is to be attached to their gun or body visibly. 4/6 colours depending, upon entering the field each player is handed a small piece of paper containing the colour of player they are able to shoot, the intention is to shoot and collect ribbons and survive....could be an interesting variant to added that if you where to say add on said paper that you are to shoot
  24. Thanks for the Links Cheers for that Tony, certainly wise words... We've got a RFD of similar standard here that I'd rather not touch with a barge pole for similar reasons, Will keep Pir Tek in mind though after a quick nosey through their catalogue I must say I'm lost hi Charlie you kept that quiet,i suppose you want to go HFT sunday then! personally i like the nipple/bayonet filling valve, its easy to empty the cylinder than dry firing a "T" bar valve fitting.if you have the fitting stay with it,and just update your bottle fittings to the starter kit from
  25. Airarms, replacing the filling adaptor? Currently having an S410 in .22, I've gone and got another in .177 (was only a matter of time) being Pre-AT it still has the old filling probe style adaptor rather than the newer T-style as such to keep it simple with the bottle. What would be needed? (and at what cost roughly) or would it simply be a better option to pick up a quick fitting kit from best fittings ??
