Well I’m back, having finally gotten over the hassle that is university exams as of Tuesday and having the time once again to spend the early mornings out shootings as opposed to writing a dissertation. Having dusted off the R10 and done a quick Zero… I got stuck in scanned the fields to take count of the ever increasing rabbit population.... following which three rabbits where successively taken own down in quick succession and collected prior to shooting a fourth that had escaped to another field. Having collected the three prior to stalking and shooting the forth it seems those piled u

Having had mine for some time now I would hands down say to purchase one, got mine for £625 new in .177 and would say it easily rivals an airwolf/HW100 or similar and out of the box its accuracy is cracking as is the shot count and overall quality. Wouldn't be without mine and certainly wouldn't ever part with it! (http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/224654-new-toy/#entry2325576) old post and pics

Bit of a quick one, looking to compare the mamba (own one) vs the taipan in the 4-16x50-ir SCB reticle variety... roughly a £60 different... planning to put it on the BSA r10 mk2 or s410 mainly HFT/hunting use. http://www.mtcoptics...tcScope_Mam.htm http://www.mtcoptics...tcScope_Tai.htm Thoughts? Bit late to get onto the forums but never the less pop me down as usuall ... might have a +1 also TBC -
I was somewhat in the same boat some time back when looking at the mk2 having seen and researched heavily the mk1. I must say however the mk2 is a cracking gun... picked mine up what must be a couple of months ago now for £625 (new) and the accuracy is cracking as is the finish. Out of the box it was achieving pellet on pellet and I'm sure Davy would back me up having used mine a few times... Certainly worth every penny in my view

hw 100, bsa r-10, aa s410 which one

Think Tony summed it up pretty well, in that it will be which fits you best... I've got the s410 in both calibres and a BSA r10 MK2 (.177) (£625 new bargain ) ... all very good guns... I've been somewhat very impressed with the BSA and having tried the HW100 at HFT I didn't get along with it so it was an obvious choice. Calibre wise, personally I think .22 is great to get to grips with the trajectory... but I quickly moved over to .177... and saying you'll only ever have one... is fairly futile... as... I've found out at the expense of my wallet for me: bsa s410 Hw100 -
Glad you enjoyed the HFT course Russell, certainly nice meeting you... Hopefully we can get your NV monocular setup next time I see you

Having been angling for one for a short while now (since the THL meet) I've finally bitten the bullet as of the Saturday just passed and picked up a new BSA R10 MK2 .177 with a tin of pellets (FX) and a handful of targets from adenbourne field sports (Oxfordshire) for £625 (£105 of which goes to the bloody tax man )! Must say that we (myself and Davy) had a good old chat with them having not known there was an alternative to "rob and gun" that close, and I at least was quite impressed, especially as they agreed to stay open late to allow us to get there... Davy also gave into to the

Following getting a new toy (r10 mk2) a few days ago it seems only fair to pass this rifle on as it will inevitably only continue to gather dust as such It is a AAS410 carbine .22 pre anti tamper brought second hand from davyt63 who I'm sure will comment on its accuracy having owned it from new. It has a bit of wear on the stock being a hunting tool (pics below) looking for £400 has: 1mag, 1 tin of AA field and the AGS (1-9) scope which I suspect will soon be taken off by the new owner It's in Swindon, Wiltshire.. pickup only .. pm me for any details.

Unfortunately no pictures to accompany this one, although we had a good crack, 4 rabbits (confirmed) in total 3:1 to me and finished up seeing a nice portion of the wild life... Had a badger within 10 yards, 4 deer and a fox.. all in all a good night. Even Had a rabbit @ 0 Yards with the pistol (cp99 .177) due to our ninja like skills....mixy ...thought I'm fond of the first explanation. Having spotted it far too close for the NV (through a fence) due to the power of the IR. Certainly a nice test for the NV, me using a gen 1+ pulsar challenger gs1 and Steve (PIL) using the gen 2 co

Possibly they had become accustom to the horses and thus me in the field?? , I'm not sure... though the words "balls of steel" spring to mind, most seemed content running up/down and around me despite not being particularly stealthy sat in the open without gloves or a vial. None of those shot nor the other moved as I shot each in turn ether, the latter lot as I shot 1/3 sat and looked right at me as I picked the gun up and turned to face/shoot each... seemed a bit strange... Range wise I just positioned in the middle of the field as they were running up and down. hence their ranges,

Cheers guys, to answer the questions the NV is a Pulsar challenger GS1 (gen1+) with DSA and a N1000AP IR laser, on the back of the MTC mamba 50x16 (used there on 10x mag and sunshade on at night ). It's a shame I don't have anything to take a picture of the view through it at night, must say its crystal clear and the cross hairs are as if it where day, you'll probably end up using the parallax a lot more mind to keep focus/estimate range Cost me £314 off the BBS forum, was 6 months old and unregistered for warrantee with pulsar so did that online and they added an additional year wa

You'll crack it, bit of practice , parallax very much helps when using the pulsar as such will probably be very similar on the p2000. Glad the DSA worked none the less bit better than the old blue peter method

pulsar challenger and illuminater ir reticle.
Rommels replied to dogvixen01's topic in Night Vision & Thermal
Quick tip if you haven't used it? depends on the scope but turn the fast focus fully out (6 turns on the mamba) and then inwards to get the cross hairs perfectly visible (half a turn on the mamba). I don't use or haven't even looked through a challenger which was why I 'doubted' my reply. Im only shooting foxes and the magority of shots is in excess of 100yrds so the challenger doesn't really suit my needs. It will be interesting to here how you think the challenger compares to your N550, give us a review of your findings. I've got the pulsar challenger gs1 aback a MTC Ma
