Terrier work in the USA - Photos and Stories.
Glyn..... replied to SheepChaser's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers

i remember reading it in one of plummers books how did the hybrids work ? Plummer used Nuttalls after Hinchcliffe’s jacked terrier work although Hinchcliffe’s terriers carried s lot of blood of Brian's via K.Powers Flint also known as Pennine Flint I just cant remember the names of the Nuttall studs used I know it was mid to late 80's and wasn't Micky -

Brian Plummer or people breeding the early plummers used Brian Nuttalls stud dogs 1980's I think , afew of the pups looked just like the Breay Rusty Type weather Brian Nuttall took any for stud fee I cant say for certain but it was about the same time reds appeared again in Brian's Kennell , Simon's Sire side won't have any white blood for at least 8 gens , but there is a line back fo R.Westmoorlands Slim and Biddie , Breay bred stuff that was know to throw some white dogs I think Bert Gripton made use of these white throwbacks in his kennell -

you keep hunting them otters you wont go far wrong the best breed of terrier of a hundred years ago was bred to hunt them , the border terrier the forerunner of the patterdale , once the otter was taken off the menu the border lost ground to the blacks , bull was thought to be a quick fix , from what I've seen , more like problems poor nose , lack of sense and many way to big or it's been added for a look for £££ -

Totally agree I had one guy from abroad send me a ped , which supposedly had my dogs in it the problem was it was my dog the grandsire possible but it wasn't, mated to a daughter of Breays Kipper ? all for coin I've got some starfish stabber making up the breeding of a friends dog I used but he is rob a dogs mate (how friendly I dont know ?) so its par for the course with them lot they pick the dumbest or completely clueless of blood and timelines to peddle their hung papers on and have for 30 odd years , its not harmed the working bloodlines

I like having the breeding of my dogs or peds when I first got them I got a 3 gen ped which I crossed referenced to make sure they were true , any way that was a long time ago and I've written every thing down since , very handed when looking for a drop of fresh blood , only the other week Dillydog gave me more information on a dogs breeding I used , I knew the background of the dog but not the parents, anyway needless to say very good blood , if I'd not written it down 30 years ago the latest info may never of been found out , I don't think breeding for peds or money or what ever will ma

if they are screaming,Could be as simple as a mouse or a slug had pups do it to me couple of times once they had noticed a slug moving out of their reach and another time a mouse was living in the brick wall next to the kennel , check for anything moving around in your yard at night could even be a spider
