  1. i have the dog on my peds as unknown breeding ...... i would like to think he was just a over sized dog from the Breay/Buck blood plenty of big workers came from that line
  2. no i didn't i saw his daughter work , his grandson , and i owned and worked his grt grand daughter, all with Smithy/ Rags blood ...
  3. Smithy blood runs deep in a hell of a lot of lines of terriers , and i don't know many lines of working blacks or choc that don't carry a hell of a lot of this dogs blood , the problem is very few people keep records or are given / or want the breeding of there pups, i should think many who disregard the influence of Smithy do so because they don't know there terriers carry lines back to the dog,
  4. Flint was not by Spartacus, he was from another line of terriers
  5. Wirey, she is line breed on a bitch i got in the 80's
  6. the pedigree i have for penny says she was down from Breay/Buck lines and was a 1/4 border terrier
  7. i think the bull blood was put in a long time before BN, maybe further back than J.bowmans this isn't a great photo but its about a hundred years ago, i think what is now called the patterdale may of just been a by product of the border terrier breeding programs....Foxdropper be nice to see a photo of those x pups when they are grown a J.Bowman terrier
  8. old time pit-dog old time borders, =patterdale/fells late 70s ... this is what i think was main blood in the mix .... should make for some interesting reading .......merry xmass everyone
  9. I think it was Barrie who posted some white terriers bred by R.westmoorland out of to coloured breay bred terriers,a friend of mine had a black and white out of two Nuttall bred terriers he rated it highly as a worker and isn't that what it's all about?
  10. I went to Llangollen show in 1978 back then there where lots of russell types a few show type borders, and all other coloured terriers where classed as border lakeland red, grizzle, choc, black, black and tan and wheaton, a lot carried a lot of white on them from the russells in there make up,with in to years and write up in the working terrier year book and the working terrier by plummer the blacks became Patterdales. I was saw a old add posted somewhere on the Internet of frank bucks and he was selling his stuff as border / lakeland

  13. Once again I'll say no such thing as a,pickaxe line I picked up some stuff mainly Breay / Buck stuff Nuttall was claiming as his own,it was and always has been about coin, and so what compared to what the CIA are up to the fact is when ever I see a post like this on here I check the puppy sellers site and sure enough the where some pick. Axe wheeler pups for sale, there is no such thing as pickaxe line it was just a user name I had on here 10 years ago half the so called pickaxe on here goes back 10 years and was bred by my brother for coin, this is nothing more than a sales pitch my dogs as ar
