    having high standard on your bitch line makes it much easier to produce capeable dogs , but basing a line on males traits doesn't mean you'll bred capable bitches

    The breeding game is based on % less shit in less shit bred ..... lot of kennels relied on the stud dogs to carry a line and would mate them to lesser bitches in the past which means there is a % of shit in most lines just as doubleing up the genes to get you good terriers doubling up the same genes can get you rubbish aswell

    its good fun but there was one ped made up on a dog supposedly bred down from mine and my mates dogs stating wylds Kipper as grandsire the dog died 40 years ago lol the same will happen with Brian's dogs now its left a huge vacuum in the market now he's no longer selling pups

    Foxes can get in tight in soil but I've seen them push in, in rock holes a terrier can't even get its head in once ran one in to a horizontal crack in the rock the Fox could be seen pushed in tight no terrier could even get its head in a good hob ferret would of had a job he bested us that day and i thought it may of been his grave as it was that tight , I went back the next day foxy was gone except for a bit of back fur you'd never of know he had been there

    I think Ziggy has summed it all up, in rocks i find you need a dog thats not going to waffled about and needs to make sure the fox thinks it's safer to bolt than stay in the pile , working cracks and natural sink hole where water flows, never enter a dog with water running in as it may not be able to grip and end up going very deep and unable to get out before it freezes, the worst rocks piles i've ever encountered are on the berwyn range , these look like soil earths until you get down about 5 foot then it turns into a rock pile afew sunk without trace in these places , never put your d

    Cheers Turkish she was my first good Black worked her with 2 different packs , she wasn't perfect after her 4th season she went hard , limited her use but i had pups out of by then

    The nuttall blood I first got, were more like the photos Barrie posted with my best bitch being low slung and heavy about 19lb with a touch of other blood I still get some very leggy but not often ..... do you have photo of your present stuff as it would be nice to see how yours have evolved
