A quick mooch after a phone call of the farmer !
vizlauk replied to vizlauk's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Taking the filter out will Not ! Make the new units as good as the old versions (fact), very little gain by doing so, also by taking the filter out ir light from 3/4 to spot goes crosshatched , the filter spreads the light correctly. When you take it out , the ir light visible through the pard , you would think your looking through diamond shape mesh ! I've tried it so i do know in person. Hopefully pard will realese a firmware update to up the power to what it should be. -

I have 2 of the older nv008 , 1 original non lrf & 1 about a year old lrf, just bought a brand new nv008plrf & its not a patch on the other 2 older models, the ir is crap, i even took the diffuser out the brand new 1 & it gained nothing, made the ir crosshatched, so i put the diffuser back in ! The older versions are much better ! -

Really can't fault the hmr, ideal with the pard nv008lrf on it, you know exactly how far your target is, wouldn't part with mine, Just bought another pard nv008plrf , thats going on the 223 ! -
Had a late message of a resident on a estate I shoot on, 10pm Saturday night, there's a fox about, Belly full of Indian food, reply was I will have a run up Sunday night, Well Sunday was a good day, shoot my first 100 sporting registered comp, 78 /100 , Then ventured up go my permission with the 17hmr as ive just put a new pard nv008plrf on the 223c& haven't scoped it in yet! A fox was spotted in the thermal, a good 600 yrds out, a few good squeaks on the caller in it come, it dropped down in the valley 274 yards away, then appears on my side of the valley, a few

Not good news, even though I knew from day 1, it wasnt my place to say anything, that was up to you mate. I don't say much , but you know where I am, as always.
-
Must be different where you are, as I've had them phone me up while I've been out shooting when someone has made a call reporting shots being fired , only once have they turned up on a occasion when I hadn't logged in
-
Well in my opinion it stops the police wasting there time & mine if someone reports gunshots, alot of land I shoot over has problems with poachers, so I do it to confirm I'm supposed to be there shooting, same as I let the land owners know ! But each to there own

What hardship is it to let them know !saves all the hassle for a quick text message
-
I've been shooting as I normally do , a simple text msg to the firearms dept, requesting my log number , telling them where I'm going & approx times ! Even during this coronavirus crap, Northumbria Police have been spot on with me, no problems at all !
-
I had 1 , used with my pard nv008, saved all the messing about with shims, perfect to centre the pard cross, but the finished height by adding the zb then the pard might be an issue to some !

Jimmy if that reacts again which I think it will get some sealer on it to stabilise it

Not on my list of dealers, I've only heard bad things from them, I remember pav had a load of hassle , that I know first hand, there pure liars ! Sell stuff they don't have or that's not even due in ! It was the same a few weeks ago, they were advertising that they had a tikka t3 left hand varmint in stock .223 ! Turns out yet again they didn't & the expected delivery into the country was over 6mths !
