Yeah and there's plenty of those about

Tis not just a bullx question, it's the same for all crosses, call it hybrid vigour..........the 2nd generation will always be superior to either parent Or at least that's what i've always been led to believe and it came from several different knowlegable people who's opinion i've always trusted

Who gives a f**k.........as long as the dogs are pleasing the person that pays for the feed then what's it got to do with anyone else????

Fishing Tackle Auction Sites
Mooching Celt replied to jasper65's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Theres a sale usually held twice a year at Newark by the "used tackle co." ...........cheap crap imported from china, they hold a so called auction aswell..............."top of the range carp rod rrp £100...........who'll give me a tenner.............?" what a joke -
Like i've already said, i have a young dog out of CH's Fly, the dog's 2 now and took everything that was put before him in his 1st season and never backed off once or gave anything but 100% effort to get on terms with. The dog's only had to prove itself to one person........ME, and he's done that so far. Some folks seem so obsessed with lines, i couldn't give a flying f**k what his ancestors could or couldn't do, i only see what's in front of me now and that's all that counts in my eyes. Buy a pup at 6/8 weeks old and just because it's got such and such breeding in it don't mean it's gonna

what is your favorite pike bait ?
Mooching Celt replied to JRTMAD2k10's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Local lake near me has plenty of ducks on it so as soon as the broods hatch get the surface lures out and bounce them along the top, works well and it's fantastic to see a take on the surface -
What makes a fell terrier
Mooching Celt replied to brown trout's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
I read somewhere that the term Fell terrier was used to describe a working lakeland type as the lads of old up in the hills didn't want to be associated with the same term given to the kc reg lakelands -
Oh how i wish there someone around like yourself when i was after a replacement for my old terrier, i did get what i was looking for but it cost me £350 but i can see why they do charge more for pups.........if folks are prepared to pay then so be it. I only keep dogs so breeding isn't an option for me but if i did then if a mate wanted one it would be gifted to a good working home, the rest i'd sell at the going rate if it was just a pet home, working homes would get it cheaper. My old Border cost me £200 (well £190 actually as i got a tenner back for luck) and they were advertised for £2

The copy i have has a photograph dustcover but inside it says "reprinted 1986"

16 months for 30k.........that works out a f**k sight more per annum than many of the folk who voted the fat b*****d into government get a year and i bet he gets put in some cushy open nick They should make him break rocks in a quarry for the length of his sentance.........oh no they can't cos that would breach his human rights wouldn't it? Shame he never gave any thought to our right to hunt..........hope he gets his ring stretched to breaking point in the showers when he bends over to pick up the soap

I have a dog bred out of Hicklin's Fly and i couldn't give a flying f##k about breeding and lines, all i know is he does what it says on the tin and i'm more than happy with his performance and ability. Just finished his first full season of work and hasn't let go or backed off once.........in my opinion that's what it's all about rather than what dogs are in his breeding of so called famous lines. Let's be honest now and think how many dogs bred from these well known lines didn't make the grade........plenty me thinks but nobody talks about the failures when they are trying to make a fast

Still got mine hung up in the shed, cracking lamps but the bloody clicker switch that on a still night could be heard for a couple of fields away Damn good beam on a slightly misty night or heavy drizzle

Like has been said, the more they do it the tougher the ear will become over time til they are like feckin' elephant hide

do you think the ban will ever get lifted
Mooching Celt replied to maitland93's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
No, and if they try to have a free vote on it and lose they will push for the laws to be tightened up so leave it as it is i say and we'll work round it........those on permission will stand a chance of getting away with it cos we all no accidents will happen and those without permission, well, you all no the risks already and haven't much of a leg to stand on now so with tighter laws you're fecked if caught -
Why after all the years of complaints about poor wiring are they still knocking out poor quality???
-
Personal preference really, i like a rough coated dog.........hides the battle scars but not good for those who like to parade round a show with a marked up dog From what i've seen though, i think Wheaten blood adds a better nose than Bull blood but then there are folks who'll dissagree with that
-
No mate, i expected to get knocked down abit but not for you to reverse up and have another go
-
Decided to let my Blitz go to someone who'll use it, i get on better with the striker. It's in as new condition, only used it once really and it's been behind the seat of the motor all season. Comes with a red filter which i cut all the annoying tabs off so it can be taken off and put back on easier. Boxed in original packaging and ready to go £85 posted or collection from Lincs

Why Working Terrier should not be pet
Mooching Celt replied to Mosby's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
If ya dogs are that highly strung and need to be worked all the time to keep them from going stir crazy.........how do you cope in the summer months i.e. out of season? -
Worried about dogs been stolen in new kennel
Mooching Celt replied to NEHunter's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
All my security has been beefed up but i'm still waiting for the day when mine go missing...........family of fecking pikeys just moved in at the top of the street and a right bad bunch they are too, there's fecking loads of them coming and going at all hours. Tried to avoid going past their house with the dogs and managed to avoid bumping into any for a while but i met one of them coming up from the other way and he never took his eyes off my dogs........... Think it's time to sell up and move -
At least they had the sense to kill him.....if they'd took him alive to stand trial there'd be countless kidnappings and murders to demand his release.....and theres noway the yanks would have handed him back in a hostage exchange As for being the top man........nah, he was just the highest profile member.......there's plenty of his sidekicks about still

1 calm and calculated ferreting dog come general mooching companion....1 biggun for when the going gets tough and a terrier to put the game in front
-
A couple of months ago flicked the lamp on.....there was 3.......gave a few squeaks.......lamp back on there was 4...then 5....6........then the 7th showed up Managed to take one out then walked up the hedge to where they had all been and it feckin' stunk that bad it nearly made you baulk

'ow do folks, thought i'd come and see what all the fuss was about on here. I'm as old as my hair........or what's left of it and abit older than my teeth.....again what's left of them and hail form the bottom of the hedge at the back of beyond Dogs are my thing.......lanky ones, stumpy ones but never fat over-weight ones
