coney clucky replied to hellyer189's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i was always one for pups when i first started then when my dog got to old decided to try the adult dogs on the market and unless you know the seller or the dog forsale id leave well alone as you probably going to buy somebodys shite take it from some body whos bought his fare share gone back to pups as no one can bull it up or say it does this and that if pup turns out crap then its me own fault -

Is a dogs stamina in its genes? or breed?
coney clucky replied to DeerhoundLurcherMan's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
people say if you want stamina in your breeding add saluki if this is true and lot of people swear by having atouch of saluki then its in genes but add to the fact that alot of other breeds could also add stamina ie collie as the hill collie is very rugged and can add stamin and brains to the mix would it not be fairer to say most breeds with plenty of exercise and road work will build up speed and stamina after all you cant catch quarry without putting time and effort into your dogs my views are that the more running and the more work they get the more they will run -

lamping land in tyne and wear or northumberland?
coney clucky replied to bu5t3r1989's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
wish your mate luck but to be honest if it was that easy we all just stick thread on here and away we go lamping to be honest he wont get owt come of it you got to get out and do the rounds knocking on farms and getting knock backs but you only have to get foot in the door of one farm and keep your nose clean and your away -
same thing happening wi my pup keen as fck dont see them right under its nose but see the 100yards away had a clamper right at me feet was going to bend down and grab it was that silly it got up with a nudge of me foot and me pup took of only to chase a bunny in the distance but it turned out ok on this slip as the bunny it ran after was a right mixy one and she nailed it as it could hardly see were it was going she getting their slowly

you built your kennels then mate you better of getting pup of some local lad who runs his dogs down your way and going out and watch and learn then decide weather you want the type of dog on offer start of with no ones cast off then you can both learn the game together good luck pall atb
