    A friend of mine said he would sell me his HW77 for £120. it needs a lot of work done to it, like a new underlever, the metalwork needs re-painting and blueing, the stock is sanded down and ready for a varnish. It needs a scope rail, theres no saftey pin, and the trigger guard is missing its grub screw. Its also very overpowered and will need a new spring or gas-ram. I really wanted one before i got my lightning XL but i couldnt really afford one in good nick. Should i go ahead and buy it to do it up, does it sound like a good buy??? It would be good for a little hobby, then id eithe

    lets get to the rust spots first ive noticed just below my scope rail, there tiny little spots popping up, how do i go about making sure that it stops at tiny and not big old rust holes? and secondly, id like to get a gasram conversion for my lightning XL but if i did it, well i may aswell save the 70 pound and put my rifle in the bin. anyone local to me that could help me out here? i can pay in beer or money haha (dont say money) ATB Sean

    dont mention it mate, i heard your points and your just looking out for your sport and myself. i was ment to go for a shoot in the morning but have cancelled it, to the dissmay of a friend but f**k it i got plenty of time when i got permission. i looked on the counrtyside alliance and there its half price for a full years membership so on wednesday i'll be giving them my 30 pounds im glad i came to the hunting life, theres a lot of sense here!

    from crap pellets, to how do i go about insurance? i guess the land owner will have no qualms in shooting if your covered, but confused.com dont seem to quote it haha is it a case of joining BASC? im going to open a new topic called TIPS AND ADVICE JUST FOR SEAN! ATB

    Thanks mate, yeah i get what you mean i was coming across as being a total wank. You lot clearly know a vast more on what i should and shouldnt be doing after all, im relativley new to the sport and i should realise that it will take time in geting permissons and just take the time when i havent to get more target practice in, and maybe go out stalking WITHOUT my rifle. i guess i came on here for advice and help, and it will pay off if i take everything on board. Thanks for teaching me a lesson

    The days coaching will do me some good, and the words of advice you can give me for permissons etc. i can understand where your friend is coming from, even more so after the words from everyone on here. i was never one of them wankers that leave litter and f**k up the land i was on, just one without permission!! next weekend any good for you? let me know thanks Sean

    im taking on what you have all said, im not going to argue that im right or anything because i know i am not. im starting my diploma in gamekeeping in september in north yorkshire so hopefully i'll meet the people on my course that will have permissons to shoot on, you have all made 100% complete sence here and i know i MUST change my ways. thanks for opening my eyes to this, before i got shot!!     it will all come right in the end mate im shure... is there no lads on hear that have permission closer to you that may be willing to take you out??? shure some one would be able to help. Andy Pianoman has told me im welcome up at his shoots anytime, so i think i shall have to take him up on that offer, cos i reckon i can learn a lot from his wisdoms other than that, the farmers aint ever willing to let me shoot on there land. which is shite, but i kno places in bradford like the back of my hand, and i never go on the farmers land, i dont fancy looking don the barrel o

    I'm with Tony....Not just that but it's people like you who piss me off....we do all the hard work of actually gaining permission properly, taking the time to seek it out, letters, visits etc then there's the others who think they can just do as they please.... Good job you aint up here and we caught you on ours....I'd make sure to have you done for armed trespass and whatever goes along with it :censored: :censored: Darryl like i said, they really dont give two hoots. ive even come across police and spoke with them, and ive tried and tried for permissions and got nowhere, so

    Same for me mate no permission at the Moment, So joined local Airgun Club, Except their Plinking and Zeroe range only go out to 55 yrds, so when its quite i put some pop bottle tops out to 60,65 & 70 yards, to get up to Simon & Andys Standard of Spring rifle shooting !!!!! 70 yards at the Moment abit hit & miss due to open field after the 60+ mark, more wind blowing affecting pellet accuracy at bottle tops..     You only have to ensure that the pellets remain in your garden, if you do not and the neighbours complain then the trouble start! i wasnt even in my garden haha, pigs came, pigs left happy. what can i say west yorkshire police are quality!!
