  3. which side of leeds are you on mate? im getting that Gas ram in the next few weeks, if ya still up for sorting it out?
  4. yeah sure i hunt mate, never like that though haha. i prefer the traditional methods of hunting, nothing like ghilling up, watching and waiting. had myslef a nice roast wood pigeon for my tea today out rabbiting in the morning!! (without a ATV)
  5. aint got none taken but i shall do, i didnt know about that matte option, sounds better. though personally i use the tape. the reasons being cheap an protects ur rifle from the scuffs in the field. i used a ghillie cover that came with my suit and then cut up strips of material to bulk it up just that bit more. how does one hunt from a buggy?
  6. that dip-it camo always looks shiny, kind of the opposite of what camo is..... I just ghilled up my rifle, cost me less than 180 pound and take away the shape of my rifle. that dip it to me is just cosmetic, no practical use. looks good thats it.
  7. Marching on Together!! yeah the thing i read was if i put a 177 in my 22 then it would go a bit mental! i'll give you that shout in advance, cos i aint got the foggiest about stripping down and fitting (sounds so f*****g wrong) cheers mate, i'll buy you a pint! :alcoholic: The .177 ram would take a .22 slightly the wrong side of the law but it's totally not worth the risk. Very bad idea It's been said above that you need a spring compressor, it does help but it can be done without so long as there's two people doing the fit. One to compress the ram while the other
  8. never heard anything like that before, thanks. For pissing on my parade. i joke! ive heard from simon that andy know his shit, and as the offers there i should probs take it, rather that than have my rifle explode in my face (again sounds terribly wrong) where did you get your gas ram from? Blackpool air rifles seems to be the cheapest at 60 odd pound, everywhere else is like 70+ is leaking a common defunk in them? maybe a new spring and tune is another alternative......

  10. Im going to buy myself a Theoben gas ram system for my XL, ive read that it will take my rifle over the legal limit on some sites. If this is the case, can i tune it down any to bring it back to being legal? also any advice for fitting the thing

  15. Hello to you all, im new to this forum i usually post in the airgun section. so hope your all doing well. today i went to have my interview at Craven college to get on the Gamekeeping course, i must say im well impressed with the facilities they have there. its a shame i start in september tho i learned a lot about airgunning in that section and hopefully i can learn a lot more here. if anyones got any tips or pointers, maybe done a course themselves? id much appreciate any adivce on what to expect. thanks Sean .J
  16. nice one mate that will be very useful
  17. he wants more money now, so i told him where to shove it. i told him it wasnt worth the 120, so in his good bargining he said he wanted more, pointless really its been sat in his shed for like 5 years, i got my BSA to go hunting with him and hes just a let down. so i thought i might aswell have the 77. the metal work was down to the bare arse, so bluing would have taken an age, the rail was only cos i thought it would have been better than the 2 grooves oh well, nevermind i'll just steal it one day. :boogie: :boogie:
  18. Priced up using this shop http://www.gunspares.co.uk/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=24571&cat=HW77 all in all about an extra 100 to bring it up to scratch....is it going to be worth it? i dont know. what do you mean by piss up my own back? i read everyones replies, some dont think its worth it some do, upto me to take the risk really. just wanted input thats all.....
  19. ive got a mountmaster to attatch to it unless i keep it, your probs right for it being a waste of time and money. but i do see 77s on guntrader for 275, top end 300+ also off topic i saw a bsa lightning XL exactly the same as mine for FIVE HUNDERED AND FIFTY FIVE POUNDS!!!
  20. its mechanically sound though, otherwise i wouldnt have shown interest in it. just needs some love
  21. oh i know i can fix it up for next to nothing, the parts aint expencive really. the rifle mechanically is sound just needs some love and tlc. i thought it would just need a rail instead of the groove.... he going to bring it down in the next few days, so i'll post some pics on it then you can see for yourself, what the condition is like. i bet id end up keeping it, i do love the 77, bye bye lightning hahaha
