need some new gear is it worth going the midland game fair?
neil82 replied to a topic in General Talk
they get charged so much for the pitches that they can`t give too much discount and still make something out of it, that said its a bloody good day out -
BASA is a scam run by the mags that promote it, looks good on paper but when anything happens you`ll find theres nobody to contact who actually knows whats going on, and personally i would join either basc or the ca, take your own choice from them, me i`m with the ca

my first post on this subject may have come across as a piss take but i`ve been in this situation, hens egg between the cheeks, very often this is caused by an ingrowing hair (sounds daft but if you`ve had one you`ll know) think its called a pilonidal sinus (or pronidal) if they keep reccuring you can get your doc to give you antibiotics everytime it flares up or go for the op and get the fu£$er chopped out and be done with it, word of warning on that is the op is a b*****d but if it gets rid of the twa*t its worth it, just be prepared to show your arse to every nurse in your local hospital wh

best use for a squirrel tail got two chilly plants inside the house and the yield of fruit had been crap so have made a small brush with a few tail bristles and a twig and brush the flowers when they open,, RESULT, think it may be time to keep a bog roll in the fridge, these seem to be small chilli peppers but volcanic, dont know what variety but hotter than jalapenos

A Good Pellet for both my Falcon & Weihrauch?
neil82 replied to Gaoler's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
you want a pellet to suit two guns, shit, you don`t want much, yes a .22 dips a lot at longer ranges, thats where pellets on paper and rangefinding come in, as for what might work, the only way to find out is to put your hand in your pocket, buy loads of tins and try them, sorry if this isnt more helpful but thats the way it is, one pellet might suit one gun and another gun the same make and model will hate them, try loads and when you find one that suits, buy 10 tins, that should keep you going till its testing time again or do what i did and get a .177, shoots a lot flatter but still have -
what model you got, one piece stock or two piece, i`ve got both, no real problems with either but have changed the butt pad for an adjustable one on the .22 mk2

this may seem a strange question to ask after all the crap thats flown about over this but---what has anyone actually lost---has someone taken over a shoot excluding all others or has someone else just been given permission to shoot, me personally would be happy to exchange some rabbit shooting for a good sqizzer patch, only thing i would like on shared land is a text to say when someone else is there on safety grounds, other than that, no problem

have you checked all the fuse boxes, more than one on a trannie, also the lights that are not working are the ones controled by the rotary switch, check power feed to main light switch, some transits have had a habit of chaffing thru the loom below the engine bay fuse box

http://www.britishmilitarysurplus.co.uk/index.html try here, have bought a fair bit of gear from here, as allways p&p is a pain so i try to bulk up any order i put in (usually socks, good value and most of the last lot i got were brand new)

bulb gone fail, wiper gone fail, you gonna winge about that, they are things that you can check yourself very easily and when someone brings a car in for testing with these sort of faults it says to me that they cant be bothered doing anything themselves and rely on the MOT test to say their car is good so if there is a fault found on your car just be grateful that someone has actually given it a good checkover, if you dont want a fail ticket try doing some maintainance before sending it for test, and if your still not happy just ask for an appeal form (be aware that this can sometimes cause t

get the power of your .177 checked, if its kicking out enough power and its accurate you can use that, .177 is all i use for all my hunting

thats not weird, marmite goes with most things

its not the entry costs that bug me, its the bloody outragious cost of drinks and food, pre-booked my MGF this year but it will be a flask and sanies unless i can get some o/t in before the end of this month

another problem area is the nylon bush in the pedal, when this wears the pedal can stay down when pressed, can`t remember exactly but i think we used to use a brass door hinge bush off a k10 (old, mk1 micra)or you could find a local machine shop that could turn one out of something a bit more robust

epsom salts do work (to a limited degree) they were sold in the `s as `bat aid` tablets, they will clear sulphation but do nothing about distorted plates, if your battery has them, it`s stuffed
-
as allready said, stick to domed pellets for best accuracy, if you want to try anything else just try different sizes in the same brand of pellet, you`d be surprised the change 0.01mm can make

went to this last year, not big but felt more impressed at this show than the basc show up at bodelwyddan, think this show will get better with each year so will be attending again, gives me a warmup for the midland next month

one more vote for the max pro, velcro the dimmer to the side of your stock and bobs you uncle, some say the battery life is to low but if you can`t fill your game bag with 1 full charge your not doing it right

best pre-charged for rabbits.
neil82 replied to lifelong cumbrian's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
use whatever you find comortable and can hit the target every time, biggest problem will be finding the right pellet for the gun you choose, good start would be a AA s200 from my experience with AA field pellets, as for calibre the .22 has a lot of thump but for me i find a .177 easier to use over a longer spread of ranges as there is`nt as much of a curve on the pellet travel and at the end of the day a pellet through the brain will kill every time no matter the size -
after switching to .177 two years ago i`ve never used my .22 since, it`s not that either calibre is more accurate than the other, it`s more a case of the loopy tragectory of the .22 makes rangefinding a bit more critical, the only time i`d consider using my .22 now is if i got some close range ratting work to do
