old schoolfriend had a phobia of needles, when we were having the tb test he looked over the shoulder of the person in front to see what was happening and when he saw the nurse jabbing someone in the arm he keeled over, they phoned his old man to come and get him and he said `is he still on the floor` they said yes, he said `stick it in him while hes out` saw him again at a school reunion and hes still the same after 30 years, my own are heights, bees and wasps and gas masks

big thing is over there in the states your politicians actually listen to what the voters say and act on it, over here they will promise b/j`s for everyone if it gets them elected and then when they get the job will give everybody a length up the arse as long as their ok

pellet weight and description advice required

try googling `combro mk4`, main problem is short supply so when available they sell out fast, sometimes come up on evilbay and fetch more money than a new one -
if its anything like hid on cars you wont get full power as soon as you flick the switch, theres a noticable delay before you get full light output, may be an advantage of the target does`nt get full light straight away
-
think the main problem you might have is these are like flourescent lamps, the output builds up slowly so when you switch on you dont get instant light like a normal bulb, interesting experiment tho, let us know what its like to hunt with (to lamp or shoot with)

i`ve just got a cheap scale bought from the local extra long rizzla shop and use a combro for quick checking and for more serious chrono testing a chrono f1, weigh out 10 or 20 pellets same weight to try and get consistant readings, if you get your own scales try a string of 20 out of the tin then put a string of weighed pellets through, you may be surprised at the variation -

ok, everybody is whinging about the cost of tickets, BUT, how much would you spend on a night out on the piss and have nothing to show for the dollars, me,i book the tickets on line (saves a couple of quid) and go there to enjoy myself, even thinking of camping next year to do both days and see more of the ring events (missed most of the falconry display again) -
first thing to do is get it stripped and lubed properly, also finnish the spring ends to a decent smooth finnish, hw quaility conrol can be a bit slap-dash and the importers dont really give a monkeys as long as they sell, that said, its a good gun that given a few tweaks will give good service for years

one of the pics they use is of a mink, do the thick b*****ds really want them to thrive in this country, have they no idea how destructive they are to native species
-
that looks ok for a starter kit, only thing i would add is to pay a bit extra and get both filters (bunnies can get lamp shy to coloured beams as well as white so it can pay to vary the filter you use) only thing that mite go wrong is the torch but a torch alone isnt too expensive to replace its the mount and pressure switch thats expensive
-
i wouldnt worry about a springer running at 10 fpe, thats plenty to knock bunnies over, if its accurate and consistant the leave it alone and just shoot it and enjoy it

sorry, i`m not that impressed with him, think his people are talking him up a bit too much and if he`s the next british hope then god help british heavyweights

have you ever not been paid for a job you've done
neil82 replied to judge2010's topic in General Talk
work on the spanners, when i had my own workshop i had a few who were slow paying, but they allways came back to me for work, some got upset when they came to collect their car and found it scattered around the workshop floor in bits but they soon found the cash to settle up in full, and when they came back for more work they paid in full on collection, you`ll usually find its the tw*ts with the cash who stall at every opportunity -

my first post on this subject may have come across as a piss take but i`ve been in this situation, hens egg between the cheeks, very often this is caused by an ingrowing hair (sounds daft but if you`ve had one you`ll know) think its called a pilonidal sinus (or pronidal) if they keep reccuring you can get your doc to give you antibiotics everytime it flares up or go for the op and get the fu£$er chopped out and be done with it, word of warning on that is the op is a b*****d but if it gets rid of the twa*t its worth it, just be prepared to show your arse to every nurse in your local hospital wh
