  1. using peanut butter in my cage trap, bloody slugs clean it off every night, was thinking of wrapping some copper wire around the trigger plate to try and keep the buggers off the bait, anyone tried that or have some other ideas?
  2. Thank you, been doing my nut in for days.
  3. doing my head in trying to remember where I bought stuff for Ann years ago, who where the big mail order companies, you had Ramsbottoms, sportsmangun centre and one other, it`s the other I want but for the life of me can`t remember who it was, any suggestions?
  4. in all the various factions being world champion is no longer about being the best, it`s about making the maximum amount of money and the heavies are the worst for it, IMO there is no-one with any interest in being anything other than the richest one out there, greed, at all levels has killed boxing.
  5. I would have thought that the only reason to investigate higher numbers of head shots by any American unit would be to try and figure out why they were using aimed shots rather than the usual tactic of spray and pray!
  6. Seem to remember it was the US who were instrumental in NATO adopting 5.56 as a standard infantry weapon round, changing to another calibre rather than improving weapons in use now to put rounds on target will only benefit ammunition suppliers
  7. your not comparing like for like there, milspec ammo is fully jacketed, hunting ammo will be expanding, think one of the reason given for choosing 5.56 was the round could tumble causing wounds rather than outright kills, dead man is just that, a dead man, a wounded man absorbs other men to look after them (and more ammo could be carried due to the lighter weight)
  8. one farmer around here lost 30odd lambs in one month, shooting foxes there is a bit more than sport to him, all depends on how much damage they are doing and whats sustainable, sport sometimes does not come into it.
  9. no good just blatting out pellets unless you can see where they are going, stick a sheet of cardboard out at the same range and see whats happening, if the group looks like it`s from a shot gun you might need a change of ammo, or you really are shit with a springer!
  10. absolutely buggerall to do with climate change, it is all due to the gulf stream which has directed warmer water into cardigan bay probably for centuries, over 30 years ago when out on a lobster boat in the bay I decided then never to swim in the sea around here due to the mnumbers of jellyfish out there, it also is the reason that there are probably far more tornado`s out there than many other places over the globe but as most are small they get no publicity (the Beeb have a video of one coming up the Mawddach estuary, probably 40 years ago now).
  11. theres a cast of one in the national museum of wales, caught off Barmouth years ago, over 500kg, was fun at the time with al the stories in the press about the "barmouth sea monster", they do get bloody big!
  12. they`ll get sued for "cruel and inhumane punishment" if they do that, you seen the teeth on those little besterds!
  13. Grandfather had his garden divided into quarters with the chickens fenced into one quarter, just rotated the fencing 90* each year, they did a grand job of weeding and fertilising a patch before being moved around again.
  14. that mirror on the inside, just above your head, it`s for more than checking your hair and lippie!??
  15. Miles something or other, couple of people on another forum had serious problems with him, deffo had mental problems, met him at one meet and he seemed OK but following his posts and then seeing things develope made me extremely glad things never went any further than sharing a few on line messages.
  16. I would think that if they are out in the wild their diet is more natural so suppliments would not be needed, insects small fish and anything else they find compared to processed flakes or pellets!
  17. more likely they are taking back total control over it, too much money involved for the tribal leaders to ignore no matter what they spout publicly
  18. good effort teaching him the basics but now he needs to learn how to pass his test, very different kettle of fish altogether, for that he needs an instructor, try and get one that does block bookings or there is going to be so much time between lessons he`ll have forgotten some pointers, the test now is probably VERY different to the one you took years ago.
  19. this will be another one where even if found guilty and sent down with the judge ruling he should be kicked out at the end of his sentence there will be appeals (funded by taxpayers) all the way through the courts blocking it!
  20. don`t know if this post is a p**s take, wilfull blindness or plain stupidity but to think this country boots anyone out just for being proven to be an economic chancer is naive, we can`t even boot out killers, rapists and assorted other criminals who have absolutely no right to be here, think I`m talking crap, PM me, I`ll keep you occupied reading endless appeals that go right up to the supreme court blocking all attempts to send them back to their home country
  21. one other point on our local river, this area used to be a major center for tanning sheepskins, plenty of runoff from them and they used to go through salt by the ton daily, a hell of a lot of that ended up in the river but the fish still came upstream every year, had a salmon hatchery for donkeys years running, ended up shutting it down as it did`nt seem to make any difference to returning numbers so they gave up with it.
  22. thats been getting the blame up here in north wales for years, not many of them can do joined up thinking just enough to realise that theres not much call for that stuff for raising sheep!, One of my own views is that in some ways our rivers are now too clean, the sheite that used to be in them, human and animal, was the start of the food chain, when the water itself is pretty much sterile where does life start (plants, grazers, predators, bigger predators, man), all this bullshit about our rivers being more polluted than ever is down to clever media manipulation, same as all this net zero boll
  23. Uncle of mine made the BIG mistake of sitting near the front when Bernard was on and getting up for a leak, ended up being the target for the rest of the stint, got a couple of free drinks for it though!
  24. even having a tooth out can kill you, don`t stress over it, but if you have to, think of the relief when you get the all clear, I had a scare last year over the big C, camera part way UP, inconclusive, needs further investigation they said, more feckin worry, in again for the longer camera, in they go with plenty of lube (and the nurses there were knockouts, tried to think of something else when the camera went in incase something came up and gave the big, MALE doctor the wrong idea), the feeling you get with the all clear is like winning the lottery, look foreward to that instead of feeling g

thats the problem with the TT, the winner is the one who pushes himself and his bike right up to that edge, not much needed to find the tipping point and very few get away with falling over from that edge, not sure if anything can or should be done about it though, road racers will always seek out the adrenalin rush that a good lap there gives.
