Hello guys, Thanks for all the help with regards to the HW100 and r10. Well ive decided that the HW100 is the way forward and am looking for some decent gun shops in south wales ( other than Keens) to try. Nothing against keens, its where i bought my 97k, but id just like some different options. Your help will be appreciated. Btw sorry if my grammar or spelling is shite.

A accuracy review of my HW100 S (Tom21 may find this of interest)
Tom21 replied to zini's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Great vid simon, big help great shooting too. Ive always wanted to try my hand at hft so it looks like the hw100 in .177 will be perfect for both hunting and hft. -
average groupings for an average gun........ Lol good shooting mate Is it the Karbine or standard model you have mr mole? Oh and btw how does your wifes Scorpion SE compare to the HW? I was watching Zinis vid the other day and boy that thing is accurate - good price too!
-
damn you and your mixed reviews!! LOL I want a rifle thats going to last a very long time and be reliable - its going to be a hunting rifle mainly, i dont do any hft or ft yet. so i guess its going to have to be the HW100.
-
And the R10 comes with a warranty anyway so i guess if its a pear il just take it back to get sorted out
-
My head says HW100, My heart says r10 and my wallet says s410 LOL
-
but then i suppose when youve had all the work done you got a gun thats capable of competing against the likes of daystate. then again you could always just go for an airwolf or something straight away. for a grand.
-
i know, i originally thought the r10 would be the cheaper (if only slightly) option. Thats for you post zini, love your vids on youtube mate. Just out of interest whydo you prefer the r10 over the hw100?
-
thanks for the reply raider! the shortening and blueprinting only cost an extra £190?! bloody hell thats pretty good especially when you consider it has a lifetime guarantee. How long did all that work take?
-
thats a cracking looking gun wedge. it really is a tough choice.
-
Its just hit me in the face like a cold trout, why am i so concerned about spending another 200 on the mark 2 to get it blue printed? Ive spent 800 on guitars before now only to rip out the electronics and upgrade them, without a second thought. The r10 is just too attractive to my eye, the hw100 is a great gun of this i have no doubt but i think il get more pleasure from an r10.
-
hmmm decisions decisions. the one thing thats making the decision hard is the lenght of the r10. im a pretty small guy so the carbine hw100 would suit me better, if only the r10 came in a shorter barrel option! the hw100 does also seem to be alot more robust which is a positive because its mainly going to be used for hunting but in .177 will still be good for some HFT later on. saying that tho, i will be using the rifle mainly with a bipod or shooting sticks so lenght of barrel wouldnt really be that important and its not even that long when you compare it to air arms classic s410 or some
-
i know what you mean about the cocking system, mags and silencer. but the hw100 is also 150 more than the mk2. or i could get a karbine hw100.
-
haha that sounds like some bloody good groupings to me! and that was a totally standard r10? Do you think its a bit overly long when its got an additional silencer? I was thinking about shortening the barrel to over come this but probably wouldnt do it straight away.
-
thanks for the link davy but for some reason the vid got removed from youtube by the user .

Hi Guys, Right im currently looking for a pcp and ive narrowed it down to two - the hw100 and the r10. Both seem to do everything i want but i must admit i do find the r10 more appealing. One thing ive noticed alot tho is people getting the r10 blueprinted and shortened, i just want to check that this rifle is still up to the task of hunting straight from the box and blueprinting is just to refine the whole thing? I dont really want to spend 600 odd on a rifle that needs another 300 + spent on it to be good. I do like the idea of getting the barrel shortened and i will probably en

FAC for someone without experience?
Tom21 replied to Tom21's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
yeah i see what your saying about ' limited number of shots before you need to get more air'. if i was going to go down the rimfire route id probably go for .17hmr due to the flatter shooting and the bullet fragmenting far easier - one thing that really worries me is the bullet being deflected. im very careful with regards to taking shots even with my sub 12ft lb air rifle and would rather not take a shot unless im very sure its safe. But the limited number of shots FAC air offers isnt really a concern as around 20 shots would be more than enough anyway. What do you think an effective rang -

Tom21 replied to Tom21's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
why would they allow .17 hmr but not fac air? surely fac air is less of a risk. -
FAC for someone without experience?
Tom21 replied to Tom21's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
its pretty hilly with a road running through the middle of it, no houses in the areas i shoot ( well there is one on the actual golf course but i dont shoot anywhere near it). the only thing that concerns me is the potential for rebounding bullets, last think i want to do is send a bullet off the permission and injure any livestock or people. Thats why part of me thinks that FAC air would be a safer bet ( give me a bit more range, still very quiet which is a must). Would FAC air be a more likely bet to be approved? Only down side is the high price of the equipment. i also shoot corvids -
Hi guys, Well i currently use an air rifle for my hunting but its not really the best option for my permission ( golf course), because A) the rabbits are extremely skittish its effective range is a little on the small side. I am considering applying for an FAC to get a .22lr and .17hmr. The problem i have however is that i have never shot one before so would i be best going to a rifle range for a few months to get experience, apply for Fac for target use and then get it changed to one i can use for hunting ? ( am i correct in thinking that there are different types of FAC for hunting a

weihrauch hw97k or AA TX200
Tom21 replied to jimmythewhippet's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
i have a 97k and its a great rifle, especially now im learning how to shoot a springer correctly ( thanks to some tips pianoman and others have posted on the forum). it is currently un tuned and im still managing decent groups up to 40mtrs ( decent for me anyway . All ive changed on it so far is the trigger - put a rowan engineering set back trigger because i have small hands and the original trigger was awkward. Once i get a v mach kit into it it should be even better. once thing you will notice about both the 97k and the tx is that they are built like tanks so will last you a very -
Who here prefers to hunt with springers over Pcps? and why? its a bloody miserable day here so thought it pose this question to pass some time.
