    Personally i wouldnt give my dog pasta or rice its just not needed and never feed it before you go out your just asking for trouble. As said above 8 hours or so before lamping.

    I havnt had a rifle for a while now and only ever owned springers before. Im wanting another soon but with working the dog and fishing etc i wont be using it as much as i used to so as long as it shoots straight im not too bothered it just needs to be quite cheap. I like the idea of a pcp as it needs to be quiet. Iv got a stirrup pump already so i wont need to buy one a them. Anyone recommend owt that fits the bill? Cost is the issue.... Cheers. Wally

    Cheers for replies iv been doin some reading up and had some good advice from whitbyseaanglers.com forum. Iv got a combo 12 ft rod and reel with line off ebay and iv spoke to Coso's tackle shop in Scarborough whos gonna sort out my rigs and bait for a session. Now iv decided what im doing im just itching to get out im like a kid at christmas lol. Going on 23rd so not long now, and iv been told theres chance of half decent cod from pier this time of year.     My bully does really well on beta active which is high protein but mates lighter dog has problems with it. Dont know if thats a common theme??

    A lot say shorter dogs turn better on rabbs etc but you have to look at build imo, my bull x stands at 23" too but shes pretty heavy and dosnt turn well. Atb mate Wally
