that is a lovely grain pattern, I can see why you like it, the work is quality to FairPlay,what finish do you use and what are the cuts of your bands? I think the bands on that one were long draw double 15mm that I really liked at the time. The finish was linseed oil. Sold a lot of catapults. Wonder where it is now lol.

I also prefer naturals, main reason it does not hurt quite so much if you have to lob it or you lose it, as a life time catty shooter, I have always made my own,mostly from hazel forks, I have box,s of them drying in my garage at all times, I really like the look of some of these more modern forks but has anyone that's gone from shooting naturals,to these new super duper looking forks, found that it actually improved there accuracy and the amount you take home at the end of the day, equally has anyone gone from a natty to a new modern type fork and found they couldn't hit anything ? Always nice getting a good size natural fork to make a frame out of! I bought a natural Yew Topshot off YCHB earlier this year and its still my fav catty. Im making a Hawthorne one myself now. Ive made R10 and Mule frames out of natty forks too. I,d rather have any frame' made out of a natural fork Still going strong then haha. I've not been on for a while but I used to sell a load of naturals I've made. Was always on ebay though and have sold em from less than a tenner to over 50 quid. All depends on what they're like and how much people want them. If you enjoy making them and dont mind selling some for peanuts then put a few up for sale. You're never gonna make make a lot compared to work put in though. Enough to keep yourself in Theraband and pouches.

Before I ask my question I'd like to say I'm in no way looking to kill cats that may be someone's family pet. My younger sister has a cat that lives in the house and I don't hate felines as much as some people do. I suppose my main question is, what status does the domestic cat have in law? If my dog jumps the fence and has one on a public road, should I worry about getting a knock from the old bill? Sounds like it's a preference thing. Like I'd always use double 15mm instead of single 30mm it just feels better for me. Had success with long draw single 25mm but it's not my favourite. It's a twat finding what works best for yourself ha -

I was using double 15mm silver with hex nuts a longish 40" draw and it worked alright. I only tend to hit pigeons with headshots or miss though which is different to killing a rabbit obviously. -
Aye, with a widow if I remember right. No reason not to if you're confident of a well placed head shot.

Already been done mate. They are getting more popular in the US so obviously the development comes from there. A quick google search will find you em. Not half as cool as a one off natty like this though. Love how you're trying out different stuff that's pretty much unique recently Bigoy. Nice one bud. Atb

£25 ??? I wouldn't be buying them at that price. If you have to have larger tubes, buy some dub dub and make up your own. Plenty of info and vids on YouTube. Or buy barnetts tubes which are still pricey but a lot cheaper than that.

One of the best woods to manipulate too. Steam it for a while and Ash can be easily reshaped. It's never gonna have a grain like Yew etc but you can't beat it to make a perfect traditional natural.

The black lines are where 2 different fungus have met in the wood. Like someone said if you haven't already nuked it in the microwave then you should. That's the best way of stabilising it. Would have to re finish it after though. If you have used any finish like poly or varnish obviously remove that first. Spalting can be the making of a fork as long as it's not too far decayed that it's lost its strength. There's a thread of mine on here not too long ago with a spalted oak fork I made. Still the best looking fork I've had imo. Sold it for peanuts too ha. Atb

What width are they? Are they straight or tapered?

Whatever you like as long as its heavier. 11mm plus lead or steel, lead filled hex nuts etc.
