  1. ....im on commercial vehicle insurance with my suzuki samurai, surely you want to look into that. Especialy if you can show the company that you need the vehicle for work. When i was 17 (only a year ago!) i was paying £550, only paying £490 now
  2. I see, i take it back, im sorry, i got the wrong end of the stick!
  3. hmmm i may have missed the point here, but we shoot rabbits to lower the population to hopefully stop them eating and damaging crops, so surely a wave of mixy over an area whipes out nearly all of the rabbits for a few years, yes i know you cant eat a diseased rabbit, but isnt it natures way of controlling the population, when theres too many, theres too much competion for food and not enough predation. but they do come out of it, and start breeding, so its not completly a bad thing!??? You dont all have to shout at me on a chatroom jobby, just my opinion....or am i missing the point, correct
  4. Whys it dreaded? Its getting rid of the rabbits, surely thats a good thing
  5. 56!! IM afraid i do not believe that for one second, do you mean 5/6?
  6. Weput radios next to the pen, (radio 1s best!) And leave them on, makes them think someone is about all the time, also makes the pheasants a bit more relaxaed after a while....its worked so far
  7. Im afriad im apt to disagree with 'nod', this question has come up hundereds of times on here, and the same answers keep appearing. Mainly 'you get what you pay for' and 'spend as much as you can afford on good glass' theres are both very true statements, i have a nikon buckmaster 4x14x50 a mid range scop £400 mark. Perfect in low light, and the image quality knocks socks off <£100 scopes. Easily take rabbits at 130/140 yards and conistantly with this scope. i dont belive that ' ' i think if you can afford it get the best possible, as it will make your shooting experience easier and mor
  8. well done, watch though, mine was printed without ammo on it, so i drove into exeter and they sorted it all while i waited, so yeeh not bad actually
  9. i got a 4.5-14x40 nikon buckmaster on my hmr, did have a hawke...useless, the Nikon gives such a clearer image. Everybody has their own opinion tho
  10. you were up early this morning!! , hmm, i think i may have caught them in a cheerfull mood
  11. 5 32s or maybe 34s, nice and fast depens if you want much left of the rabbit
  12. just an update..... mwaha if you dont ask you dont get! I rung em today, asking how long the application will take, i said i kinda need it urgently as rabbits are destroying our maize crops she put me on hold for a while, came back and said, well your very lucky, i have spoke to the constab. and he will process it asap, you will recieve it in a few days!!!!!! haha welll chuffed, so much for 3 and a half months
  13. Ive applied for 17hmr; faster, longer range bullet (but personal opinion i think tbh) but anywasy, i wasnt even guna mention foxes to the firearm lady. I just said rabbit control and corvids, she was just like 'and the odd fox if you want, but make sure it is at a reasonable range, 60/65 yards max'. ... and that was that, no more was said about it lol.
  14. ah yeh, i had him for my shotgun a few years ago, haha yeh thats wat im having to do :/
  15. haha join the club chap. Im also in the Devon and Cornwall area, did you have the lady officer, think she was called samantha? She came to see me last Wednesday, passed it all, but said it would probably take 3months!! As, they are very busy atm, and short staffed... suprise-suprise :/ Just my pennies worth Dave
  16. Officer came over yesterday, all was good, gave me the amount of bullets i asked for, and a mod and passed the land that wasnt already, up to full bore ......now the bad news.. got to wait 3 months for the bit of paper to arrive
  17. Good newss i rung the office yesterday, she said she had all the necessary bits and bobs, and it was being dealt with by the 'field officer' but she said she was sorry, but im going to have to allow up to three months for my meeting, as they are extreemly busy!!! i wasnt happy but put it out of my mind and carried on lol. .....the field officer rung today!! meeting next wednesday....job done lol. Pays to be a bit umm 'inquisative' now and again
  18. Hey stubby Yeh thats a good idea, haha i love home made jobs. Yeh mine just slides on and off, yeh its suprisingly stable, doesnt bounce around a lot whilst driving ( well it does, but thats cus the ride isnt the most comfy) but yeh handy and stable to lean on... not bad for 1 hours work, some ply, carpet, jigsaw and a length of 1x2 lol
  19. haha havnt got a gun yet lol, so no. My mids still frazzled, my mate (whos a keeper) advised me to spend a bit more, on maybe a nikon/ leupold, but i still dunno :/ sorry im not much help
  20. Yes, but like what has been said before, 50 acres is a very small area, i suppose putting down 100 poults (meaning you'l only shoot 30 odd, as 30% is a good figure) then feeding the area a lot, and well, maybe putting some sort of bird puller down, they poults won't have a need to wander, but imho ex-layers will be off on there travels really quickly. Especially of charlie decides to wander through one night Just my opinion Dave
  21. looking good. This is what mine looks like
