  1. My saluki X has taken pheasant, moorhen, partridge and pigeon. Clip
  2. Thanks Chaz, yeah helps loads, just put my mind at rest thats all. Just got worried when last night i was told for about the tenth time that my greyhound bitch looks like a collie X and she must be a hancock dog cos she has his ear markings. I knew this couldn't be true because she's registered with ngrc but i just wanted to make sure. Infact she only has DH in her right ear and only letters in her left and after doing a bit of research on the net this is all correct for the year she was born so i can now go and collect my pint i'm owed by this so called dog man who knows what he's talking abo
  3. Could anyone tell me how Mr Hancock marks his dogs ears? I understand they have a DH in one ear(not sure which) and other letters in the oposite ear. How many letters are there? which ear is the DH in? Thanks Clip
  4. I wish raw fed dogs didn't have flea problems. After feeding raw for two years now i haven't had a flea problem but a month ago my lad started getting a few on him, admittedly this all coincided with me homing a new greyhound bitch who may well have brought them with her. Anyway after a month of trying to beat the pests with a strict regime of flea combing i had to resort to chemicals because they weren't going anywhere. The grey bitch has been switched to raw now so hopefully she'll soon be able to keep them away natuarally just as my lad was doing for the past 24 months. Clip

  8. Do any of you guys have any recomendations for where i can get a good quality leather sighhound collar from? Thanks Clip
  9. I think the look on its face says it all. The poor thing looks knackered!
  10. We have them here in Peterborough. I saw two on this Mornings walk.
  11. Thanks Molly, Was just about to come on here and ask when i got your PM. Thanks guys, definitely some food for thought here. It was barely a fight more of a turn and bumping, the trainer doesn't think she'll be that much of a problem but she'll be penalized to bits and will hardly get put on the card now after a disqualification. Clip.
  12. Yes, i totally agree there reload, all the books i've read are full of conflicting theories and can lead to much confusion. After reading all the books and internet articles i could get my hands on and joining numerous raw feeding groups/forums I feel i have enough information to make reasonably educated decisions on my dogs diet. Don't get me wrong i can always learn more and i'm very appreciative of any advice more experienced dog owners and raw feeders can give me. My take on it is that nature provides everything us humans and animals need and with a little research foods can be found
  13. Thanks Reload, I have the Billinghurst books along with a number of other books by different authors all of which i've read over and over again. The probelms i was seeing in my dog were excess scratching and licking and after looking at the obvious (parasites) and treating accordingly and still no improvement my next thing to look at was diet. I first thought he may be intolerant to one of the foods i was feeding so as i said before i went right to the basics and fed one food source over a couple of weeks and added to it as to see if i could elimnate the food that was causing the problem.
  14. I've fed raw now for almost 2 years, i used to add supplements, oils etc but my dog never seemed quite right. After close inspection of the diet i was feeding and a very long process of elimination i found that it was the supplements i was adding to his diet that was causing the problems i was seeing. Since then i've occasionally added sunflower oil, olive oil and wheatgerm oil to his feed when i think of it. I've read to many horror stories and not enough positives on feeding cod liver oil to feel confident in feeding it. I've never really understood the whole adding supplements to a the raw
  15. Sorry, whos John Simm, thought "This is England" and "Dead Man's Shoes" were Shane Meadows films. Meadows is one of my favourite directors and Dead Man's Shoes is my faourite film of all time. Class clip
  16. Thanks guys, i take it the lurchers used are saluki/greys? Anything else in there? Sorry for all the questions, if i knew where to look i'd research the dogs myself, is there such a site on the web? Saluki/greys are my mix of choice and i'd love a well bred dog one day, once i've tamed the onbe i've got Clip
  17. For the newbies on here could someone outline what breeds these dogs are please. Reading with intersest but i'd love to know a little history on the dogs that are being mentioned. Thanks.
  18. Thats what i thought, hope they don't exist.
  19. Been to see George Drake this morning, He has discovered that Clip has some soft tissue damage to his groin area, most likely from over reaching when running. He's marked two presure points for me to massage and recomended two weeks of rest for my lad. I'm quite glad i went to that show now, even though she was way off the mark with a hip injury i'm glad the judge spotted something, i would have never spotted a problem myself. I have bought some trainers choice liniment gel and will be starting treatment right away to get the lad back in form. Dan.
  20. Yeah it was a terrier and lurcher show, there was a class for best dog in working condition, maybe i should've entered that instead of best smooth coated lurcher. I never intended on showing him really, just got caught up in it and naturally you always think your dog is the best. Anyway, as the days have past and i've spoke to more people about it i'm a little less worried that there is something wrong, i should have nevered listened to a someone that looks for form over function. But the seed was planted so i have to get him checked now, he's booked in to see George Drake tomorrow so we shoul
  21. Send of a DNA sample to these guys http://www.metamorphixinc.com/products2a.html
  22. Thanks, will keep you posted. Have come to the conclusion that the judge just didn't like the fact that he was a rescue lad and was a little to biased towards him. Still getting him checked over though just for my own piece of mind.
