My venom viper jammed this morning when i was zeroing. I think it was a misshapen pellet that i missed as i loaded the 2 shot magazine. It was the first shot zeroing at a 3 inch target and i hadn't fired the rifle for a few weeks, so i didn't think much of it when there was no hit. I fired the second shot without realising. Again, no hit and then i realised. Now i have 2 pellets rattling about in there when i cock the bolt; i can't hear them when i slide the bolt forward as if to fire. I'm a bit scared to dismantle it: I'm just getting back into shooting after a few quiet years and i have

Cheers for the replies fellers. The pup is 8 and 1/2 months and he is a plummer-x-jack. We're always mooching about for small fur, while we await permission replies. Hopefully that was the first bunny of many!

Nettle and wild garlic soup Wild garlic is also called Ramsons pan - butter, chopped bacon or lardons. Fry until bacon crispy. Add chopped onions, celery, leek (optional), celeriac (optional). Fry for 10m until soft. Add half a carrier bagful of chopped wild garlic (leaves, stems, flowers, forget the bulbs), fry for 2m until wilted. Add some chicken stock and half a carrier bagful of nettles (young plants are better, if older use the just the top few inches). Bring to boil and simmer for 10m. (or bake in a low oven for 30m) Add some grated nutmeg and purée the lot using a

I went to a mackerel festival one time, in la rochelle in france when i was much younger. It started at 8am, a few hours after the fisherman got in. everyone at the festival got a fresh sardine or mackerel, a dollop of freshly made tom sauce (made right there on the quay by some fishwives) and a crust of still warm, freshly baked french bread. Us and my parents' pals were the only english speaking families there; it was a real rustic festival. Gret food that cost, I think, 10 francs at the time, which was about 90p. yum

Really pleased the pup got his first kill (not including the young rook he found and ragged last week, thinking it was a toy). The dog has been at it for 2m, i've been a photographer for about 2 weeks... so go easy...

Ok , so who`s got a blackberry ?
Tomm Parr replied to Buster321c's topic in General Airgun Discussion
i had a blackberry for a few months, then i switched off the email access because it was such a pain in the neck: I'd rather look at my 20 emails a day on my computer, not the phone. I'm not a technophobe though, just seems like common sense to me.... well maybe i am a technophobe... -
he isn't a racist, he's just a comedian.

Unarmed British Soldier Captures Top Taliban Leader
Tomm Parr replied to .terrier man.'s topic in General Talk
I like the comments underneath that story (after you click on the link): Some might joke about our military but those comments show just how highly-thought-of our troops are, by the US media. -
are sentimental claptrap and were proud of every bit of it In the immortal words of James May (top gear) cock Sentimental maybe but it means a lot to someone. I don't agree with the war but I support the troops 100%. It's bad form to take the piss about that.

It shouldn't make any difference to the dog what you call it: As long as you sound happy when you call it's new name, it should come. They recognise the internation in the voice more than they do the spelling

i think borders are the only one you really need to strip. for the rest, if you ain't showing them i don't suppose it really matters. i always shaved my old lakie (rip) in the summer. he used to damn near pass out if i didn't.

i think sheepdip is for ticks not ringworm. i certainly wouldn't put my dog in it!

you can just get some worm medicine from pets-at-home. i can't remember the name of the one we used, it was in a plastic syringe and cost about 6 quid. the pup perked right up the next day and was fine after a week. Was it a spot-on treatment Tomm? no it wasn't, i think spot-on is for fleas. Anyway, i can't remember the name of the product sorry but the lad in the shop told me it was the best of the ringworm treatments. It did the job well. About 10 days later i took the dog to the vet for his microchip and weil's disease jab; i told the vet about the drug i'd used for the rin

myself, i cocked up big time only last weekend - i was messing around at a mate's stag do (paintballing) acting like James Bond whilst we were being given spoken to by the instructor.... I shot myself on the other hand, ripping the skin off and dripped blood all over the box of paintballs and the visors. I cried aloud like a big girl but at least i did not weep like one, thank goodness. The stag and the rest of the lads said I'd probably have become a running target, if i had shed a tear. I felt like a right div but ho hum
