You've hit the nail on the head, some folk on here are clearly getting confused: It's the kids that are there from 9am to 3pm, NOT the teachers. Most teachers are there from 7.30 to 5.30, with no lunch hour. I know because i was a teacher for nearly 5y in both secondary and primary schools (and thankfully packed it in nearly 5y ago). 5 years of behaviour that'd make 99.9% of men and women lose their heads and throttle someone or have a heart attack, 5y of having to deal with ignorant parents with a chip on their shoulder because Mr So-and-so didn't understand them when they were a kid. No

too right . too many folk seem to forget all that when it suits them

get a grip. if you dont know what you're signing up for dont sign up then whinge about it ! This argument is about the private sector whose T&Cs were depleted YEARS ago (remember Maxwell plundering the mirror pension)having to pay for the public sector. Have MANY teachers ever had a job in between education and becoming a teacher, nice little closed loop paid for by the tax payer. That is exactly the problem - what they signed up for (in a contract between them and the Local Education Authority) is now being rewritten without their consent! Everyone knows a contract is only le

I think some comments here show a lack of understanding of how the economy functions. I'm not a public sector worker anymore but i can understand the anger of those who are: The reality is that They've been told that they'll have to pay double for something that's now worth half. DESPITE having agreed the pension contributions (and annual rates of increase) in a LEGALLY binding contract at the outset. Seriously, wouldn't you be pissed off if you found out you'd have to pay more for something that was worth less, after having agreed a price?

Has your Wife got the recipe for the herbal tea? We made some last year. We just dried out the leaves first, then you can store them when they're bone dry and crumbly. In a cup: 1 tbsp dried leaves; 1 tsp honey; dash of lemon juice (or a slice of lemon); 1 tsp sugar (optional); boiling water.

1. Matthew Macklin losing to Felix Sturm last night. 2. Lucas Matthysse losing to Devon Alexander last night. Boxing fans'll know what i'm on about. Two examples of a mugging.

cheers for all the advice chaps and chappesses. I tried the baking powder/bicarb and water suggestion and the lip swelling went almost straightwaway. He wouldn't stay near the ice pack though! His throat/chin was still swollen a little so planned to go and get some piriton/antiH from the vets the next day (as was the evening by the time i read the posts) but the next day the swelling was all gone. Only prob now is he fell down a 20 foot mini cliff into a streambed chasing a cat in the woods. Now he is limping intermittently, so looks like a trip to the vet is needed anyway! Don't y

You should see a doctor mate. Anything more than twice a day is not a good sign............

Hello all, I didn't see it happen but suspect the dog was stung by a bee. He was hanging around the flowers in the garden all morning where the bees congregate; I assume that that is what happened. He doesn't seem in pain, though his chin and lip are swollen and he seems to be licking at it. Any ideas?

foraging in June............................

 Good info Tomm ,but a trifle fattening ,judging by your avatar. No that's not me! Just my ideal woman.................... -
Hello all. Here are few few goodies for June..... Sweet cicely - seeds have aniseed type flavour, good with cooked fruits or fresh with cheese. SIMILAR to poisonous species like Hemlock, Fool's Parsley - Use a photo guide, ignore if unsure. Elderflowers - pick flowerheads when white-yellow. Great for cordial, squash, jams, jellies. Batter and fry the flowerheads too..... white mustard - grows in farm hedges. Hot, spicy leaves for salads or sandwiches with cheese/ham, good in chutneys too. wild fig (hottentot fig) - introduced from Africa, locally common in the South West. bittersweet

Would THL be better if members were vouched for?
Tomm Parr replied to johnny boy68's topic in General Talk
I joined moochers 3m ago. My account was activated last week because i didn't have anyone to vouch for me. What's the point of that? Just makes me not want to use Moochers. Seems daft to me if they did that here, lots of chaps starting out with hunting might not get vouched for. -
I can't believe some folk are concerned about the Japs cruelly cooking alive and eating alive a few fish. :icon_eek: :icon_eek: I've seen plenty on this forum about animals getting 'cruelly' chase and ripped to pieces by dogs!!!!!! :whistling: :icon_eek: :whistling: :whistling:

Thats a good one.....seen plenty in small hall fights but of the bigger fights Off the top of my head Lewis - Holyfield 1 takes some beating Others would be Leonard - Hearns 2...the last Ali - Norton fight....De la Hoya had some strange decisions in the late 90,s....One of the most ridiculous ive been witness to was at the Goresbrook in Dagenham 6 or 7 years ago David Barnes was fighting Jimmy Vincent,Barnes was getting battered every round,Frank Warren wanted to pull him out around the 9th but he had a decent next round only for the ref to raise his hand at the end ....it takes

Right, first we're talking dogs not people so an example using a totally different species is a wee bit pointless, there are plenty of small things that can kill big things, i accept that. In this case though we're talking a dog and fox, which when it comes to being two different species they are actually in build and 'weaponry' etc are actually fairly evenly matched. Now the question was not, could a spoon fed, house whippet who is pampered by and old lady, kill a fox? It was could a whippet kill one? Now i'd say probably not to the example you use, the same with a molly coddl

Don't give a f**k what Giggs does unless its during a match i'm watching. I'm not MU fan by the way, just a footie fan. Don't give a f**k what Imogen Thomas does either. She's a footballer-chasing whore. I'd feel sick if i was her father. Didn't know he was f*****g his brother's wife though, that's unfortunate. Still, i don't give f**k though, there are wars going on in the world ffs

Haye shall get utterly annihlated against Wladimir Klitschko. I expect the ref to step in in the middle rounds. However it were against Vitali Klitschko, the older brother, i'd be surprised if it lasted 3 rounds.

When i was a kid, my mate fell into a pit trap set in the local wood: 3 feet deep with a sharpened wooden stake in the middle, covered with branches and grass! It was not a pretty sight: The spike went into the skin on his ankle and came out of the skin on his knee; naturally, an ambulance was need to resolve matters  Turns out there was a local nutjob who'd put 3 of them in the local wood and my mate was unlucky enough to be the one and only victim....
