For Sale Beddy X Whippet Pups Update Sold
Terrier Sam replied to beddyx's topic in Working Dogs & Livestock
Good stuff mate! They won't be disappointed if they turn out like the parents from what I've heard. The sire has balls of steel. I was very tempted when I heard that you were breeding but I have a 2 year old beddy cross here and my mate, the lad who I always go out with, has a 1 year old collie cross so it wouldn't really be fair on the pup. We usually alternate dogs and get out about 4 nights a week plus any mooching/ferreting at the weekends so they get a fair amount of work now. If we were to add another dog into the mix they'd either be sat at home more often or I'd be out more and win -
For Sale Beddy X Whippet Pups Update Sold

Good luck with the sale mate! The sire is a very good dog. Very game and has plenty of local lads to vouch for that. I've heard off a few reliable sources that the bitch is good too ATB mate Sam -
I may be wrong but it looks like you get very little info if you edit the image in any way? I always put mine through photoshop but I bet if you even put them into paint and the 'save as' it'd do the same thing....? Easy enough to do. If you're good enough on a computer to upload a pic you can save as in paint Check me out on it. Here's a thread I put up a while ago http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/296961-cocker-stud-wanted/?do=findComment&comment=3303644

I was considering starting a thread on this and having a bit of a rant the other day to be honest. I'm on facebook and am a member of a few groups on there too. Looking at these some of these groups, you'd think that we were back in 2003 when it was all still legal. Some of the posts are just plain stupid and quite frankly, those who have such little common sense as to brag about things like that on the internet deserve a hard lesson in my book. There are regularly comments about coursing hares, foxing with lurchers etc. and people openly discussing these things on said facebook pages. Li

If he definitely wants a whippet then I know someone who has some Mike Brown bred ready now. PM me if you like
-
Jai, do you just work him on one quarry or on more than one? If more than one, how does she go? Only reason I'm asking is because the only hounds or hound types I've seen work have been on one quarry such as fox etc. Really like the look of her too mate ATB Sam

Exactly mate! that's what I meant when I said whippet grey . Definitely mention in whipbed. they can look very whippety too

Mike browns are supposed to be reasonably tough but I haven't got any first hand experience in that. I had a dog out of Mike Browns Strike while the iron's hot and a laguna whippet (Couldn't tell you which one) but his skin was piss poor. Otherwise, why not a whippet x grey? From what I've seen, they have a better coat and skin but again, never owned one so others will tell you better! At the end of the day, if he wants a whippet, get a whippet but if a whippet isn't practical but likes the look of a whippet then get something else - something tougher. A lurcher with a lot of whippet b

Pat and Boyo, get the dogs checked out. I had a whippet who, at 2 years old, started attacking other dogs for no reason. We put up with it for a couple of months and tried to correct it until he growled at me. That was it then. Straight to the vets only for them to say that it was almost definitely a brain tumour. Couldn't afford the £800 for a brain scan so he had to be pts but I'm 100% sure that that's what it was after reading loads of stuff on the net and from what the vet said. so get it checked Boyo, no offence mate but you should have a word with your son in law because 1) who the

I've seen a few run and owned one too. Some of you know that he had to be pts last year due to a brain tumour at 2 1/2. I really like their temperament, prey drive and acceleration. I think they're truly great dogs for mooching, ferreting and ratting. their prey drive is unreal and as has already been said, my heart was in my mouth far more with that dog than with my current lurcher. There were a few times where I thought I was going to have to scrape him off the side of a tree. Having said all this, my dog medicine box may as well not have had shelf space as it was out of the cupboard mor

Roe Antler Knife Handle??
Terrier Sam replied to Hot Meat's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
Like Tyla says mate, you may get a better blade if you use a hultafors or mora knife and take the blade out. I'd pay the extra couple of quid and go for a mora if it was me though. hultafors are ok but chinese made and not as good a quality blade. Mora are made in sweden and are truly spectacular quality for the money (I should know, we sell them both ) Either that or if your lad want a folder, why not try the same sort of simple design as the Svord Peasant knife? Non locking and very simple. All you'd need would be a swivel pin for the blade. This is they; http://sportingcutlery.co.uk/k -
you mean you could have.....pre ban Ahh, but would you be in the wrong? Where in the hunting act does it say that you can't course a hare in a chair without a dog? I think we've found a loophole here

A Hairn?

Now that's a nice thought You'll have to get yourself more dogs together for that Jai!

Glad it was nothing too serious Sam, he'll soon be back to his old self That's a good price, a lot cheaper than a vet. I know mate. It could have been a lot worse and a lot more expensive Good to see that Millys coming on well too!

I thought I'd bring an end to this topic. I got an appointment with a chiropractor but had to wait a bit and was offered to use a laser pen by a friend of my mother in laws. I didn't really believe it to be honest. It just looked like a red LED light and I felt like a right tool using it but after a couple of days I'd already noticed a difference. The other half took him to the appointment with the chiropractor who clicked a few bits back into place and noticed a lump on his muscle straight away. She worked it for a bit, used her own laser pen on it and told my other half that to keep him from

To look cool. As I said, It's not a knife. It's a style of machete. Completely different -

I agree with the clipper thing as a knife but the youtube clip is on a machete mate. Clearing, chopping etc. etc. not skinning and gutting..........unless its elephant
