I'm in North Wales mate and I went out on Sunday as the weather hadn't been too bad over the weekend.
It was a complete waste of time. Every field was water logged because there is nowhere for it to go round here. The ground is still completely saturated - no chance of being quiet!

I'd go for a whippet.
Pick the right one and you'll have a pup with plenty of guts and commitment in regards to rabbits - big or small.
From the ones I've seen I like the way whippet based dogs work. They're able to put pressure on their quarry closer to hedges and fences because they can turn much quicker IMO. Ideal for the land in my area.
That's what I'd do because I have a soft spot for the smaller types.

Sorry it's been a while Geoff.

This was from a walk up behind our house last weekend;
Last but not least, heres one from about a month or so ago, not sure if you saw these....?

Thats good news Sam, 10 months and catching his first rabbit on the lamp looking forward to seeing some up to date pics of him, don't tell TOMO on here who bought him his new red collar
Haha! TOMOs comment made me laugh.
TOMO, you need to give in to your urges and splash out on a red collar!!
Red is the new black!
Looks great Geoff! Glad that you've got her jumping so quickly!
Looks like she's got rid of some of that bloody hair too!
Had fen out on the lamp last night and he caught his first lamped rabbit
I'll try and get a couple of recent pictures of Fen up in the next few days.
Hope all's good with you?

i just said that to the mrs i must get them sewed up
Good on ya mate! Or just wear black skids next time
Anyway, you didn't scare the rabbits off so who cares?? A bit of ventilation is good for us all
I use a bit of apple cider vinegar in their food. It's supposed to prevent fleas, ticks, lice, worms, the lot and touch wood, it's working!
We have a lot of midgies around us and even they don't seem to bother the dogs anymore!

Thanks guys, the pictures were the best of a bad bunch but hey ho! Milly seems to have a thicker coat on her too. Or is it just the pictures?
That's Aarons pup in the bottom pic. He's a couple of days off being 2 months younger than Fen and Milly (so just over 5 months now) but he is a lot more mature than Fen is at the moment.
Let me know when's best for you Geoff and we will sort something out.

Each to their own and most will stand by their preferred type but IMO you will get diverse offspring (within reason) when you have a dog with excellent speed, another with excellent agility/acceleration and a third with a good coat/feet/intelligence in the mix....?
I've not had a collie cross but know people who have so I know they are a good cross for rabbits and the like but the reason there are so many different types of lurcher about is because it's not as straight forward and simple as that. Different people like the way different types work and that's how it is and always will be.
No way?! She is the spit of Fen! (Apart from Fen seems to be the short arse at the.moment being about 20 1/2 " tts. Ill get a decent pic and post it when i get chance.
Hope all is well with you all?
