last time it was worked was before the snow in december, i bought it off a bloke whos packing in so im ready for next sept. its a big git like but good nature and canny worker.
If ya were willing to bring ya Jill up could put it in with my hob (thorney close) just saves shabbas mate a trip but he can still have pick of litter if thats ok with you's.
(its a sandy in case ya bothered 2 or 3 year old)
I had them as pets as a young-en and if it wasn't for that reason id of never thought of getting into the sport (admittedly a newbie). As soon as or if ever they became a licensed animal it would put a lot off owning them, licenses would no doubt cost a fortune and you'd just end up with more poachers just like we see with fresh water fishing.
As for breeding i hate to hear of when people buy them off the bloke down the road for pennies or at a local auction then realize they do need cleaning out at least every other day so just leave them to starve or let em go in nearest park but to be
I'm a newbie *used to air rifles* but from what Ive found out so far just make sure fed on the best diet you can get for them (fresh meat if possible but then others swear on dry), handle them daily (easier when comes to dragging them out) and give them either plenty exercise out of the cage or build a large run for them just to keep them active. Only thing i can think of is the "do you feed before you go, or keep them hungry" but that's your own preference. Apart from that its all pure instinct just trust them and they'll do their job.
just thought it was worth mentioning as i know alot of buyers look for that stamp as they know hull cartridge would only import from weihrauch factory's as you can get similar looking rifles of lower standards.
Just wondering if there's many in the Sunderland area ferreting as im a beginner (just got first ferret) and would like to get to know a few people as not many of me mates are into it, would give es a chance to pick up tips and can maybe sort summit out for next season.
They are around the £400 mark new, seen some going for around £250 but this is used, the rifle itself is fully working. As says in description it may need new scopes but these along with the mounts and bag are thrown in as extras so im after around £180 as its to be used for a mk3m ferret finder.
(does carry the hull cartridge stamp on the barrel just to prove its genuine)
HW80K .22 Full working condition some slight wear through the years but this is only cosmetic. Slight pitting on barrel and wear to stock varnish. This was passed down to me as a present but due to lack of transport and permissions this is no longer of any use to me especially since i've recently taken up ferreting and would rather use the money towards it. Please be aware scopes and bag are included but cannot guarantee accuracy of scopes as took a knock on a fence post whilst on an outing.
please be aware cash on collection only.

I'm the same always use rag or lug sometimes the odd bit of mackerel if just after flatfish or whiting but i've found your best digging it as close to the beach your fishing from rather than buying the farmed stuff, don't know if its just me but doesn't seem as good.
I keep the ferrets indoors over night as we have some dodgy neighbours who wouldnt think twice about stealing them but as im sure you know they stink. I think ive become immune to it but its a nice welcome to any visitors as far as health warnings the house always around 20 - 21 degrees and they dont have any problems with the warmth so i wouldnt worry. all you have to think is can i put up with the smell and cleaning up.
Def dont let em run on laminated flooring though, any urine gets underneath that and it'll be reminding you for weeks. Most the time though if i know anyone's coming r
go for the j wellbeloved, can be a little more pricey but if its not getting much fresh meat in the summer then it makes up for the protein, or use the cheaper stuff and make sure ya take the old meat out before the flies get at it
Well its not getting any worse and as said doesn't seem to be bothering it, ear itself is normal so could be just dirt. Just thought id ask as new to looking after them, better safe than sorry.
Managed to get a hob around a fortnight ago, have handled and used ferrets previous but this is the first one ive personally owned. Noticed a small amount of black wax in its ears although not much was wondering if this is a sign of infection or mites as im sure i read something like this a while ago.
Also if it is just normal id appreciate any tips on how to clean it as each time i attempt it the bug*** nips and squirms.
I could be wrong but being from sunderland myself ive never heard of a ferret market here, if there is one it might just be a case of you have to know the people going to find its whereabouts.
Last years ideally but could wait, whichever easiest for ya, have to be hobs though dont fancy dealing with jills when come into season. Just let es know how much want for em, live at thorney close so easy enough gettin about.
Anyone selling ferret`s in the Sunderland area, also, I got word that there was some sort of market at Heworth where you can buy them; anyone know when its on? Haswell used to be the place, but its no longer on now from all accounts.
Cheers,
Jim
