    loads of backyard breeders who only breed to replace there own dogs.. thats the way it should be... why you going to the big name.. to much shite being bred... deerhound cross going to be big would that suit the area you hunt...

    routine exercise keep them clean fresh water and good food.. work them ..test them.. breed of the best bitch to the best dog who must be able to kill his fox.. cull hard all the rubbish.. feed well and test pups hard..

    mind neil you digging to soft meath foxes and not proper ballymacad foxes... LOL, the foxes here in Meath country Keith have a nice deep red colour to them. Yet you only have to go a few miles up the road to Bally country and the foxes are different. They're yellow, LOL. good one...that young lad is a good lad...he nice and quiet and gets job done.. other lads there not got a clue..have a nice litter of border fells on a good little fox bitch.. they all blacck as coal with good jackets and strong heads... only ten days old but be handy fox dogs... mother and father here with me...

From what i and my diging partner seen of the diging in finea last year by the ballymacad's,it was not very impressive,mind you if the young chap was left alone to get on with it id say he would do the job no bother. i wasnt there last season neil.. i finished with them last june.. its keith here... scots lad who used to work for them... only pulling your leg now.

    still about there... lot of lads bred the harder dogs to each other but over last few years i bred my smaller fox dogs to get the type u after... still very game mind and mix it when they have too. in hunt service so need dogs 6 mornings a week early part of season then 4 days a week after november..

    u after a pup.. i have 7 pups on a very good fell type fox bitch . the father is a good solid border dog.. pups black as coal... they ten days old.. 1 bitch and 1 dog left..

    the only lurcher is a collie greyhound.. all the rest are longdogs... brains of the working collie and speed of the coursing greyhound...

    i only breed for my own use and only out of proven sound stock. the mr blucks etc of this world are only lining there own pockets and doing nothing to save or improve the working border.
