  5. Antifreeze is pretty lethal stuff for dogs and the worst part about it is it tastes sweet to them so they lap it up.Lost a dog to it myself years ago same kind of thing fitting, blindness, no cure not a nice ending at all.
  6. Thanks guys, we're always trying to improve things to make it a great day out for everyone as well as make a few quid for the school.
  7. CLONDULANE COUNTRY FAIR SATURDAY 9TH JUNE 2012, Clondulane village,Fermoy Co.Cork Bigger and better than last year and a great family day out. I'll post a full schedule of events as soon as I've finalised everything. I would like to expand the bring and buy section by giving anyone into crafts making sticks, knives, nets, terrier and ferret boxes catapults etc, space to show and sell their stuff. If interested pm me.
  8. I think that was her father-in-law Sorry I am confused here , is the lady we refer to Darina Allen or Rachel Allen?? rachel is her daughter Rachel Allen is married to Isaac allen so Tim Allen is her father-in-law.
  9. I think that was her father-in-law
  10. Real nice bitch you got there ,bull in her for sure, good luck with her.
  11. Very nice,my kind of a terrier, atb with him.
  12. Once again great shots, but that shot of the Tawny owl in flight on your flickr page is in a league of it's own.
  13. Great shots, love the long exposure water ,something I'd like to do more of myself, what number ND filter did you have on and what time of day was it. Cheers.
  14. Thanks for the comments, I really like this shot myself it was taken around this time last year at sunset. I think it has the feel of western America but it was taken 25 mls from me down the Blackwater valley in a place called Villerstown.
  15. Always hunted alone, never had any big name dogs or any big name lines,to be honest looking at a lot of the posts on here my dogs would have more then likely been culled. The only job I asked my dogs to do was to get me out and enjoy the countryside and whatever we got was a bonus.Yes I did the numbers thing when the job I was asked to do called for numbers to be done , I think numbers are a young persons thing it's only as you get older that you realise that it aint always about that.
  16. Two more cracking shots,b/w images always seem to me to have more soul and yes the contrast makes them appear sharper but they do have to be sharp to begin with and that egret is pin sharp. Well done .
  17. Good story, brought me back 30 odd years , you did the right thing.
  18. Sorry to hear this Johnny, hope you get them back soon, will keep an eye out down here.
  19. Great shot you really captured the eeriness of the place.
  20. I'm asuming you got the 18-55 mm kit lens with your camera so I'd say go for the Nikon 55-300mm f4.5-5.6G AF-S DX Vr lens.300mm focal lenght is about the shortest I've found practical when trying to shoot wildlife. The other factor you need to consider is that the d3000 doesn't have a built in focusing motor so you need to buy lenses with their own focusing motor in order for them to autofocus on this camera.
