Ireland Coolnakilla Harriers Dog Show + Sheep Dog Trails
jsmith replied to timmy2000's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
what part of the country is this Shane this is in Rathcormac village just 5 miles on the Cork side of Fermoy Co.Cork. Run by a great bunch of lads. -
Thanks lads, I'm not complaining about being unknown, I'm very happy living my life under the radar so to speak it just makes running a show extra hard and as ye all know that's hard enough.dmick the antis were already on the committee and with my son having moved on to secondary school they didn't invite me to the meeting and with the school extension paid for they took their opportunity to shut the show down. This year is a bust for me now so I'm going to attend and enjoy as many shows as I can and if I'm still above ground next year we'll see what'll happen.

Thanks for the kind words but sadly I can't see any change of heart coming from them and even if they did a show of this size can't be turned around in a short space of time. The two biggest obstacles in running the show for me have been one I was the only person who was into working dogs so every time you wanted to add an event or class you had to explain it in detail because nobody knew what you were talking about. The second being that despite having over 40 odd years hunting behind me I've always kept myself to myself so nobody in the hunting world has a clue who I am and so I found it impo

Unfortunately there will be no show in Clondulane this year. The Parents Association of the school have voted not to back the show and without them there's no funding, no site and no workers on the day.I don't understand why as the show has always been profitable making €6500 last year even with the bad weather and in all it's guises over the last six years has raised just short of €40,000 for the school.I have tried to get support from the local community but apart from one or two people nobody has any interest in the show. Personally for me it's a huge slap in the face as I had a lot of work

Graham , enjoy the bit of peace while you can , when he switches on there'll be no switching him off. He's turning into a cracker fair play to you.

I've got family members who were caught up in this.Luckly their daughters are ok but friends of theirs lost their son in the attack. Our thoughts are with all the families involved.

That's a pretty bold statement to make and it's because of this kind of bulls##t that it's getting harder if not impossible to get lads who know their game to judge shows anymore. It's a bit much to come on here and slander everyone who ran a show or who judged a show this year.I've been to 90% of the shows this year and I haven't seen the same judge at any two shows not to mind every show.I can't speak for all show organisers but I'll speak about my own show. I brought my lurcher and terrier judges in from the UK two top class judges and absolute gents, both had never judged in this country b

I don't know lads I'm starting to worry about ye now if ye think that cop is from Cork, this will give ye an idea of the Kerry accent, OK the poor b*****d don't know his right from his left and can't cycle for s**t but ye'll get the idea of the Kerry accent.

Ireland Should pup & veteran be able to enter best in show
jsmith replied to bowersey's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
I think the veteran should go to the final and they always have at our show, but like Chalkwarren says it's the judges choice after that. -

Ireland RISE to stage RALLY at BIRR GAME FAIR
jsmith replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
The antis don't have to put people on the streets they already have the attention of the public and the politicians, they are in our schools regularly, on our TV screens nightly just look at Brian Mays stunt at the Olympics and their propaganda machine transcends all forms of social media. In the UK 90% of the population is classed as living in an urban environment some 53 million people so even though 500,000 hunt supporters sounds impressive it doesn't even equate to 1% of the urban population not large enough for politicians to take any notice of hence the ban. In Ireland the urban / rural -
Ireland RISE to stage RALLY at BIRR GAME FAIR
jsmith replied to AlbertJ's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
We need to put the egos and personalities aside and band together on this one. Whether the IWTF has or hasn't got the support of RISE is of no consequence. All of the organisations involved in RISE owe their primary allegiance to their individual members and the promotion and safeguarding of their chosen sport, this doesn't mean that they're against any other country sport. As members of the IWTF we expect that the committee members fight for the interests of terrierwork before all other countrysports but that doesn't mean we can't band together with the other national organisations to support -

He's a big time anti and uses he's position to to spread he's deluded view of the countryside and wildlife, once again he's got his message out to millions of people all be it subliminally. Hard for us to better that unless there are celebrities who hunt that are willing to actively promote our way of life. -
No doubting the guy's guitar skills or the fact that he's deluded as regards the countryside but once again he's got his message out to millions of people all be it subliminally. Hard for us to better that unless there are celebrities who hunt that are willing to actively promote our way of life.

Mark ,Neil and the rest of the IWTF are doing Trojan work ,with the support of great men such as Barrie,to preserve the future of terrierwork .We need to move away from our individualistic approach and band together behind the IWTF implement and promote the code of practice and show terrierwork in the proper light. The season is now just around the corner and if we carry on as we have been it could well be the last as we know it here in the south, the time between now and Christmas will tell a lot for the future of terrierwork in the republic.I have said this on a number of topics, our enemies
