  2. old for sale signs of houses make frame to suit out of 2 inch by 2 inch timber then just get old paper with a circle of your size choice on i find that printing them out red in colour seems to work as you can see the holes ok and pin them onto it should last you a while and the most important thing is the backstop
  3. sound advice as always on here.I to use to belive i only needed an airgun untill i gained more permissions after getting a .22 rimmy vermin controll became even more of a passion for me . But deffinatly keep a good airgun for them permissions were rimmy is a no no i would also say to go for a centerfire at the same time if you have good foxing ground as it save's on the cost of a variation later on for the centerfire a good reason and a good mentor will be two of the things needed all the best on your application tanktfb
  4. just apply for variation i had .22 and .223 with mentor condition only had fac for 10 months but been hunting with mentor for bout 15 years so he decided to write a letter explaining how safe he felt i was with a firearm i sent that in with a variation for fac shot gun and another .22 rf 3 weeks later had certificate back mentor condition taken off new slots for .22 and fac shotgun plus they also gave me open certificate for both .22 . the moral of the story is you dont ask you dont get the answers

  8. was the article about the landrover or was it in a pic if was an article you should be able to get help by contacting the magazine editors if it was just a pic might be harder to trace
  9. its better to keep away from any roads that border your farm with a gun there so many antis around.i had police called on me while back when the police came and i explained i was walking the boundry inside my permission they basicly appolagised for wasting my time but they obviously have to investigate every call they get from the people who do not understand how fully insured f.a.c holders conduct vermin controll around our countryside
  10. i was looking into getting the revo field 28inch pump in 5 shot to take out on some of my permissions that are all bog and rivers thought for £249 i could take it out without the worry of destroying an expensive gun.

  14. on the news this morning the wwt were having another rant about lead shot and how it should be banned full stop. if this ever came about would all of us who use older guns that are not steel proofed be compensated for guns that can not be shot ???

  19. Hi guys and gals wonder if anyone could help with this query i was looking at this web site http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/netregs/businesses/92637.aspx and it says that you have to dispose of a carcass to the appropriate people and that you cant just bury it or leave it .so my my question is how do you dispose of yours many thanks tanktfb
  20. hi mate i find that cci 40gr hp subsonic are an excellent round for rabbits and seem to be extremly accurate in my old bsa semiauto out to about 75 yrd .But as FULL CHOKE says its best to get a few different makes and see witch is better suited to you and your rifle as ammo varies in price so you need to try and suit your pocket also A.T.B LEE
  21. i got turned down 4 years ago for having convictions but after reapplying and explaining to my feo that my life is now settled with a family i now have mine with a condition that if i do the slightest thing wrong my licenses are gone which i think is fair enough you act responsible you get treated with respect. the best thing you can do is fill out the forms get some good referees and be honest with your feo if you get turned down but genuinly love the sport then you will do the same and try again in the future all the best lee
  22. he should have just put them on the form as a conviction does not mean you cant have an fac .as long as you have good reason to have a firearm and good referees and you can satisfy the police that you are now of good caracter and safe to posses a firearm then sometimes an fac may be granted .But in this case if you can lie on your forms to cover up the truth, what sort of misadventure could be done with a loaded weapon i think the fac liscensing department have made the right call on this one
  23. i hope no farmers see this ad or we could all be in trouble
  24. got mine bolted to my bedroom wall it is raised off the floor so i did not have to cut the skirtingboard i have put a lock on the bedroom door also and the feo passed it no probs i also trained my 5 kids to stay away from daddys bedroom cause the boogie man lives in the cabinate ha ha p.s my cabinate keys are with me at all times never leave them lying around
  25. yes as long as the cabinate has been passed by the feo you can keep any guns in it
