  3. I aint slaggin no one pal dont even know him, just laughing at the exchange of words
  4. Who me? Im just laughing at Foxtrack, does'nt mince his words that boy
  5. Most of the ones ive seen and worked will kill em,some very quickly but most will give you chance to dig to them first,so long as you dont take too long to get there.Bearing in mind most were originally bred to work and try bolt their fox first and kill failling that, they were bred with some sense.
  6. Right, i wondered if it was that fella who used to write in shooting news,he's the only simpson i knew of
  7. I'd say most well bred working fells still have the ability to finish their fox if the need arose, some quicker than others but if they're proper workers and not inferior dogs they'd have no probs
  8. I was thinking a mix of caladonian kale, maize and either quinoa or mustard, the farmer was on about drilling wheat under sown with grass seed then drilling the game crop over that,i thought there might be probs with the wheat/grass smothering the game crop,do you think?
  9. Ive got a question to start it off,one of the farmers on my shoot has agreed to put me some game crop in for the coming season, what mix's have you guys had most success with for holding pheasant and partridge?

  15. Yep,do nearly all my digging on my own, hard work sometimes but if things go tits up you've only got yourself to blame
  16. As above wheaton, try it,i was shown it by an old timer whose handled prob going on thousands that way n never been bit, obviously put your foot on it before you go for a hold but once you've got it you can hold it that way no probs,i only scruff em if i wanted to put it in a bag or box which as you know you cant do anymore.Think about it why would you want hold of the end that your gona shoot? Plus topper obviously had nothing with him to knock it with so if you hold that way you can knock it on a tree etc,you cant do that if you've got hold of its head.Im not saying i always handle em that way
  17. No mate,as long as you keep hold of its tail aswell it cant bend its back so if you keep it at arms length it cant get hold of you,if you let go of its tail it'll start spinning around till it can get hold of you like a mate of mine did first time i handed him one needles to say that fox ran to live another day
  18. Yes i have mate,more than a few
  19. I know what you mean mate usually people who dont have permission to be there in first place
