  1. Its all part of the aprenticeship sambo,we've all had to go down same road,if it was that easy it would'nt be the same, like the lads have said when you do get some you'll appreciate it and look after it,when you've got some wheels if your still stuck PM me and i'll sort you summat as long as you dont abuse it
  2. Did'nt Daergi used to write the terrier articles in them days? Used to be a lot better then than it is now
  3. Messers!! If they ran off n left dog i would'nt be suprised if it was nicked,if it was theirs then they dont deserve a dog What did you do with it Deerhound?
  4. Stop picking on em! I love badgers
  5. Why do you fancy the role little lloyd
  6. Cubs in tight spots can make even the most experianced dog struggle, and if you've disturbed them then gone away vixen will almost certainly have moved them on.Starting dog on cubs is a pointless excercise IMO cos its no different to killing rabbits, its nothing like the real thing. You'll drop on a big un eventually and when you do if the dog does the biz then you can be proud and know that the dog has started working properly.IMO
  7. Cheers Rhys,I dont know much about Wendy's dogs but her fella has had terriers for bout 50 yrs or so upto present day so seems most likely they came from him,but people seem to talk of her dogs as a type she's bred her self so just made me wonder if she'd bred them from a different line from her dads, which were mainly Buck bred, although i dont think he keeps a particular type these days, any one know?
  8. Is Wendy's stuff out of her old fella's or did she accuire them from somewhere else?
  9. I think you've got a bit to learn Tomo before anyone gives you permission
  10. There was a rook up the fields behind my house with both wings pure white last year or year before, saw it for 3 or 4 weeks then they all cleared off and i never saw it again, would have made a good taxidermy project for someone
  11. Like Stabs says kennels seems like the best course,or if everything else fails have his nads off,not ideal but better than having a dog that you cant trust with your family.
  12. Just a query to those in the know...I remember reading somewhere a lot of years ago that you should not shoot foxes with less than 40gn,is this law or just the writers opinion? Edited to say; I was with a guy who shot a fox with a .17 about -90 yds and it dropped first shot but was still alive when we went to pick up,he had to shoot it another 2 times to kill it.
  13. Cant you find their earth Auto Culto? They'll have dependant cubs now so it'd be better if you could catch them all up and relocate them together
  14. Very nice terrier Chalkwarren, do they do the biz underground? :thumbs-up:
  15. Is that Holme valley Shell? I watched em hunt at Dunford Bridge when our meet was cancelled, they never stopped all day, some good hunting :thumbs-up:
  16. My first time was'nt exactly a dig,it was a big rock pile on a very cold winters day,a young b+t dog 1yr old,he was to ground about 4 hrs,he came out badly bitten with the foxes lips on his head, I assume he killed it as he was a very hard dog to fox,i was frozen to the bone sat there but i would'nt have been anywhere else in the world, and had to walk home about 5 miles after with dog under my coat so no one could see him till i cleaned him up at a mates house on way. I was about 12/13 at the time, about 18 yrs ago, been at it ever since

A good programe i thought, shame most of the general public will never see it,some very good points made and good explanations as to why british farming is in the state it is,nice to see a programe from the view point of those in the countryside instead of what the townies think its like
  20. I saw one running round a field here today at about 1.00pm,must be the dry weather causing them to struggle to find food,in july last year i kept seeing one when i went to pheasant pens about 4.00pm every day for a week,it had been very dry then too for a while
  21. I suppose there's a small risk, ive heard stories of people shooting themselves in the foot but i dont know anyone who has so they could just be stories, for a ricochet it'd have to pass through fox hit ground and pass back through fox again so i would'nt worry too much about it,one thing to be wary of is dont always assume the fox is dead after you've shot it,99.9% of time it will be but ive heard of people holding them thinking they were dead and next thing its come round and got hold of their leg
  22. You had much use for it yet Burnie?
  23. Welcome to the HUNTING life
