  3. Depends on a few factors Wilf,eg will you be hand feeding or hopper feeding,how much will be lost to vermin etc.But on my shoot a ton n half of wheat will feed a hundred birds from poult stage to spring time,plus about 15 bags of pellets,pellets being about £6 a bag.
  4. I pay £3 a poult for pheasants,and £160 a ton for wheat grown by farm where shoot is based,last season i was paying eighty quid a ton so its doubled this year.
  5. In that case Foxdog i'd probably overlook the fact that they're a wee bit over hard,after all finding and staying are the most important qualities and if you got that then you got some good uns,as for getting em to bay they'll either do it or they'll die trying,jmo

I think if the dogs have had plenty of graft already and still refusing to bay they'll prob continue that way,although some can ease of at any time in there career,but many dont make it that far,maybe you could make changes to their breeding in future pups to get something more suitable,do they have a lot of bull blood in them?
  7. Damsons are about twice the size of sloes and usually sweet enough to eat,like a plum,sloes are very sour and dry and if you eat them the inside of your mouth will shrivel up and fall out!! Ok it wont fall out but it will shrivel up!

Pip, the Fed has been fighting for our right to continue to work terriers for a good few years now,before and all the way through the hunting bill and since the act was passed,its thanks to the fed that terrierwork was'nt sold out by some of the other fieldsports followers in an atempt to save their own sport, and its because of the fed that we can still work our dogs following the passing of the act,i think thats good enough reason for me to send a few £ their way and i think you'll agree,but if they dont ask they wont get,like i said earlier they could do with a higher profile,but again tha

  12. I feed raw bill inc a lot of tripe and i worm every 3 months and ive never known my dogs to have had worms,obviously you dont always see them but in 18yrs ive never seen one! Pups i do at 2 4 6 8 and 12 weeks,then every 3months,i use panacur liqiud 10%
  13. I agree with DS,at worst you'll have a long wait,if need be block fert in and go back later,and your locator should work in rocks,mine always have.

  15. I think they were bout 10wks old in that pic,got some more recent ones but i cant upload them for some reason.The black bitch is now 16wks,red dog 17wks.Not pc enhanced(i would'nt know how) i think its just cos they're cam phone pics
