  1. How about a pop up type thing when you log on to thl of any dogs stolen that week with pics and info? Could that be done? I dare say most people dont bother looking at the posts for stolen dogs unless its someone they know or its local, maybe a pop up would stick in the mind of some who would'nt normally see it
  2. I was there and they were the puppies parts!!!! Gossip were funny as feck!
  3. I'd be happy to donate if it were to put a stop to it....but.....like as been said these feckers are in it purely for the money and offering cash rewards might just make matters worse...if people stopped buying working dogs and offering cash rewards there would be no money in stealing dogs and the feckers would lose interest.Im pretty sure the police round here have a very good idea who is involved, but they're not gona tell us. If there is going to be a large reward it would have to be for information leading to the thieves rather than the return of any missing dogs,in which case i would give
  4. The fella who supposedly was involved in the other thefts is a man called Jack Hare,a thieving gypo b*astard who was supposedly living nr carlton scrap yard a while back but i think dissapeared after the trouble, not sure where he is now but any info on him or any of his associates would be gratefully recieved
  5. Probably.....it was a terrier show
  6. Wise words at the end of your post there Symon...shame more people dont follow that rule
  7. You lot make it sound like we should all be thrown in jail for working terriers!! Not sure what you guys get upto when your out but your not painting it in a good light.I would be reluctant to take a stranger out but simply because good permission is hard to get and you dont want to risk someone going back and spoiling it for you.
  8. Does give totaly the wrong impression symon of what terrierwork is all about......it pays to think before you post
  9. I think i have a mate who knows you Ray,welcome to the site!
  10. The place i live had the oldest pack of harriers in the world dating back to 1260
  11. You sure he did'nt say i was just shite on it?????
  12. Last time i was in Wales i had to show your mate how to dig friedrice,he was holding shovel wrong way round, dont think he'd done it before JD Just made it a single holer cos i did'nt have a lot of pipe for that one and i like a dig...despite what friedrice's mate says. The other one ive built has several entrances and 2 boxes and a maze of tunnels
  13. Nearly finished the other 60ft one, took me about 10-12hrs to dig out by hand 2 n half ft deep,a couple of hrs to drop pipes in and fill bottoms with soil, then spent about 6hrs today back filling and putting turfs back, just got to do the boxes now, should be a good one this, made it quite intricate and a bit testing for the dogs,i took some pics of the dig out but forgot to take some of the rest. Its next to a free range chicken farm this one too so i reckon could be quite productive,i'll keep you posted
  14. I dont think burnie was suggesting you take a trip to vets to dispose of the dog but to get it checked out.
  15. Aye think it was Dave Smith, and Paul Hible used to,dont know where they are these days tho??
  16. Jack Smith used to live across the road from my shoot and dig all the earths that i now dig.I would think the lads who used to run the terrier club in his village would be your best bet for info smelly dog
  17. Jack n Vera! Class! No doubt she'll give em hell but you might struggle to get him to do a days work! Nice pups tho good luck with em
  18. You know what they say smelly dog....if you give some people enough rope!!!
  19. If the dogs a jibber then it should'nt be bred from anyway, thats the whole point of giving them as much work as poss before you breed,so you know they not gona jack after a few seasons. Would you have much confidence in the pups if 6 months after they were born one of the parents quit? I know i would'nt
  20. Gouldie still does put bull into his terriers
  21. He must be hard if he's in ocs You know D Naylor ocs?
  22. Good points there Greggy! I'd say at least 2-3 seasons work with some good long digs thrown in to make sure they're stayers. In an ideal situation i'd say work them till they're retired then breed a litter from them to replace them but obviously it does'nt work like that, esp if your trying to keep a line going. Ive got 2 pups here, one was from a 9yr old bitch and the other from a 10yr old,one just started work and doing well, hopefully they'll carry on where their dams left off.
  23. Cheer up fella you may not get alot of beaver but I hear you do get alot of cock in the bedroom. Dont be greedy now.
  24. Could do with some beaver being re-introduced back into my bedroom......can't remember last time i saw one
  25. Ive got a young sparrow just started visiting my garden a few days ago that has mainly white wings and tail. And in the fields behind my house there is litter of young rabbits,6 in the litter 4 of which are black, then about 6 weeks later another litter were born with another 3 blacks, now its not uncommon to see blacks but ive never seen that many together, and they are wild rabbits not from an escaped pet.And year before last there was a magpie coloured rook up in the fields, saw it a few times but then it disappeared.Must be something in the water round here
