    thanks guys , the boy is keen at the minute and id hate for him to be put off but when they get you right it dont half hurt , either that or im just a wimp now im getting older

    hi all my son got his first ferret yesterday , a polecat coloured hob 5 month old i havent had a ferret for about 20 years and we are getting back into it in an effort to keep the boy off the xbox the ferret was fine when we were at the chaps we bought it from and yesterday didnt mind being handled but when we went to feed it this morning it latched onto my son and wouldnt let go so iopened its mouth to get bit myself using my other hand to remove it it then bit my other hand , so i cut a leg off the sunday roast waited until it had fed its fill and tried picking it up again and got bit for

    hi my chicks stay with the broody hen until they are between 6 and 8 weeks after that they no longer sleep under her so if i was to use an incubator and lamp i would use the lamp until around then , try putting the lamp back in and see if they prefer it , all the best with your brood

    trying to , lost all my cabbages to fles beetles , but curly kale , sprouts , swedes , leeks , runner beans , tomatoes and cucumbers chillis and sweet peppers are all doing great so far , started eating the swedes and runners ,had a couple of leeks today cant beat proper fresh veg

    hi all i have an 18month old whippet x italian greyhound he is a cracking little dog but has not been trained properly is it too late to train him , he walks on the lead and is really friendly to people but if let off the lead he wont come when called he comes back when he wants i would love to work him but dont trust him any advice gratefully appreciated

    just wanted to say hi , i have just joined im in rural essex on the cambs herts essex border im getting my son interested in fieldsports ie ferreting , shooting so thought id pop in here from time to time to get some tips , i used to go out with my grandad who was a gamekeeper but that was a long time ago so i know things would of changed
