  1. I took the jill out this morning for about 3 hours, tryed two burrows(one from other day) and had no luck,i dont know if its because they were empty or the jill wasnt intersted but she wouldnt stay in those two.I then found another burrow with about nine holes close to each other,i stoped had a look about them and heard movement. So i netted them up and sent her in,she was in there for about 5 minutes and came back out,i then put her into another hole, she was in there for a fair bit of time then i could hear alot of movement so she was either chasing a rabbit or trying to eat one,few minutes la

  4. lol am getting there,i chucked the rabbit in whole beside the 2 hobs early on,they were at it for a while but when i checked hadnt eaten much as i expected so i gave it to the jill for abit.when yous feed your ferrets rabbit do you put it in whole like i did or do you cut it open first?also how long can it be left in there before it needs bined?

  6. I went up with the 2 hobs again this morning for just over a hour,i tryed one of the burrows from yesterday but after a few minutes the hobs lost interest,so i searched for another burrow and found a couple of decent sized ones next to each other,it was really over grown and a bast... to get the nets down, because it was so spread out and overgrown i only put the one hob down so it would be easyer to keep track/find him.Not long after one rabbit bolted and somehow got past the net(think i need to clear the area around the hole better before i put the nets down).Anyway i fixed that and put the h

  9. Remember am new to ferreting, some mistakes were made but ive learnt from them. I decided last night i was gonna take the 2 hobs out this morning and see how they get on,i didnt know the last owner so didnt know if these ferrets were good workers or not.I left the hoose about 7am and walked across to small woods not far away,i soon came across the first set of burrows holes and started to put down the nets, then i came across a mixi rabbit, any other rabbit would have bolted by now but this sat there for about 5 minutes while i put nets down, once i got really close it bolted. Heres the mi
  10. yes am new,ive not long got the ferrets so they need to be handled? i need to get used to them, they need to get used to me,locking them up in a hutch 24/7 wouldnt really be fair

  12. do any of you use ferret litter for your ferrets,i tryed some early on and they seem more interested rollin in it,one of the hobs prefered to do a crap on the carpet, also when they strech out and crawl foward are they spraying?they have been in the room for about 1 hour and my burd is raging because of the smell

  19. aye i will be mate,i only used the dry cat food yesterday because ive seen posts on here saying its ok to use now and then, will be leaving soon to pick up woodshavings and dry ferret food. i put the jill back in with the 2 hobs yesterday for a wee while, the hutch i got looked clean but was stinking!turns out the right hand side of the hutch had fresh sawdust, probaly because i was picking them up.the beding area was soaking and stinking.so after a good clean the jill is back in and will be able to relax now on her own,the two hobs have been at her alot.you can see a chunk of hair missing be
