  3. sound mate,i could bring her to you if thats easyer.might work them the morn and see if can get any more rabbits,will be going over the same burrows once again so will probaly catch nuttin lol. lee they also took over vet in gorebridge,where ive been using so far.just not sure how clued up they are with ferrets,instead of frontline they gave me advocate for the tick.

  5. its the dam girlfriend lol.when i got the albino jill(nippy) with the two hobs she got a tough time,shes improved abit since then,shes always been lean/no fat but today when i got karen to geez a extra pair of hands while i removed the tick she reconned nippy was looking skinnyer and not well.shes not in season now and been out of season for a while now,she was pritty swollen before though,ive seen her eating plenty times but maybe doesnt eat as much as the youngest jill.she seems livly enough/playfull,hunting ok but lost some hair.shes always been skinny but i guess jills are,just thought a c
  6. id like to get my ferrets into the vets just for a check up,make sure alls ok.ive seen many posts here about good and bad vets,can anyone here recommend a vet in the edinburgh/midlothian area that knows there stuff when it comes to ferrets?am gonna have ferrets for a long time,and would prefer to use a vet who isnt gonna take my cash and do half a job

    aye loyds have it makes sense to get the bottle,i plan to buy that next time.moneys abit tight this week lol.i got the otom tick remover and got a single spot of of treatment from the vet called advocate£12 for both.in the end the tick was actully easy enough to remove,atleast shes sorted now.

  10. just found a tick inbetween my jills toes,i would have tryed to remove this myself but this one looks like it could be a gotta be one of the most achward places to remove one. edit:decided to try i see yous mostly use frontline,i was told to use advocate(£26 at vets) i think it was by the wumin answering the phones at vets. anyway just to be sure,will this be ok http://www.petsathome.com/shop/frontline-spot-on-flea-drops-for-cats-and-kittens-15635 dont think they do the tick puller though

  12. ive used chudleys and alphas ferret feast mate in my short time owning ferrets,the wee stinkers seem to enjoy both My local Animal feed store only sell Chudleys, is it as good as Alpha, as Alpha appears to get a good name, Ive heard not to touch Pets At Home. ask them to order it,they should no problem
  13. i took the two jills out today and managed to get three and lost three:( good day though,also found a butcher in the toon paying 1.50 a rabbit or swap for food so got somewhere to take the extra rabbits when no space in freezer

  15. i thought id take the hob out today since the jills have been getting all the action latly,maybe this was a bad idea... the big man just didnt look interested in working,he would stroll about sniffing the nets(maybe smells the jills) looking bored as fook,i kept thinking thats it ya lazy wee fooker home it is,each time i wraped the nets up and thought about packing up i thought fook it,maybe this time....and after 6-7 hours and about -100 holes neted,and about half a tone of weeds lifted lol we ended up with 1 small rabbit,and we wouldnt have got that if i never stuck my hand in and gra

  17. i couldnt see anything mate,but its clear now.was just out checking and after getting woke up she fancied another meal and is eating no problem.most of you have owned ferrets for a long time,does this happen alot to your ferrets?
  18. i went out this moring to feed the stinkers.i noticed straight away one jills mouth wasnt fully closed(looked like a wee vampire lol) i put fresh rabbit in and kept watching,it was clear there was a problem as she kept open/closing her mouth best she could,she then went to try eat but looked to be having trouble,then she kept repeating open/close mouth and move back and foward.i took her out and had a look in her mouth but couldnt see anything.i then decided to phone the vets,after explaing the problem to the vet he agreed it sounded like a bone was stuck,as i was on the phone i went out to ch

  20. i was wondering the same,today i watched one jill try drag some rabbit upto next level to sleeping area as the other jill kept hold of it trying to eat lol,or it could be the chuckle sisters lol to me to you...

  22. my hob chuckles when i go out to feed/handle him etc,i guess he just enjoys the company.
