  4. Hi all, Recently just started a Youtube channel which i hope to be uploading ferreting/lamping/general rabbit catching footage. Please feel free to have a quick look and rate, comment and subscribe (subscribing is completely free and will notify you when i upload a new video.) The videos on there at the minute are fairly short and not very good quality. However i have recently obtained a better camera and hope to be uploading alot more footage now that the ferreting season has started again and fields have been drilled etc. Thanks The channel is http://www.youtube.com/user/TheConeyCatch

  6. yeh, it was rabbit fever. them nets were good quality and they had some of them new rabbit snare set-ups too.
  7. I've found with the one I use that the depths aren't the true distance ( when is says 4ft on locate, it may actually be more like 2 ft). Once you get used to estimating the distances its perfect.
  8. I think fish and boiled rice is meant to help a bit. Someone I know had a springer that couldnt keep anything down and this seemed to work. Fluids are more important though, so if it cant keep water down, it needs a drip.
  9. Isn't that just greed, always wanting a dog that is better than everyone elses? ALRIGHT MATE I DONT GET THE GREED BIT. EVERYONE WANTS THERE DOGS TO BE BETTER THAN THE NEXT GUYS, WOULD YOU LIKE OWNING A DOG THAT WAS NEVER AS GOOD AS EVERYONE ELSES. YOU SHOULD JUST GET A LABRADOR CAUSE THATLL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS A LURCHER THEN YOU CAN JUST STAND BY AND WATCH AND SAY IT DOESNT BOTHER YOU. I don't agree with that 3 turns mate. It's that line of thinking that sees the pounds full of lurchers. Folk striving to get better than they have never giving what they have the chance to p
  10. I use a clulite lamp for lamping with the dogs which is brilliant. However I'm guessing you will want a lamp that clips onto your scope, unless your mate is going to hold the lamp. The Clulite lamp also has a gate light which is usefull, obviously for going through gates, but also when reloading. If you are after a clip on lamp, look on eBay because you may pick one up cheap there or go to your local gun shop and see if you can get a bit of discount. Remember that you will also need to buy a battery and something to carry it in.
  11. but that begs the question why would you want a gun dog with extra pace as presumably they are all ready bred right for the job,or are they, dont know iv lost myself now Would this not technicaly be a lurcher ????? ATB have heard of a few of this type over the years but they certainly not common,i asked about gry/lab long time ago but people were very negative prob due to the likely litter waistage,to heavy I recon your right mate but would be interesting to see what a light weight long dog say Saluki x Greyhound first cross and one of the lighter weight field trial
  12. Good on you for braving the weather, the rain was torrential for quite a while here. Nice little bushing pack!
  13. but that begs the question why would you want a gun dog with extra pace as presumably they are all ready bred right for the job,or are they, dont know iv lost myself now Would this not technicaly be a lurcher ????? ATB correct I don't think it would be a true lurcher, but it depends how you look at it. They are often 3/4 lab and 1/4 greyhound or even 7/8 lab and 1/8 greyhound. But yes, a lurcher is a working dog x long dog, so it technically would be a lurcher.

  15. You sometimes see a labrador with a touch of greyhound in it just to give it that extra pace, but they still have a soft mouth.
