I've recently been given a bitch of Nuttall lines because the people who bought her didn't have a clue about terriers, This little bitch is one of the most loyal, intelligent.gamest dogs I have ever had (although she can be a bit vocalwhen you dont always want it) She is only 9 months old so hoping she will grow out of some unwanted habits she has picked up from novice dog owners. All I can say is if Brian has any more he doesn't want contact me!!!

Will persevere longer.

Anybody got any suggestions for fighting bitches,(one Lakie 6 yrs one Patt 7months) One minute get on O.K. then pitch into each other, Lakie usually starts it but Patt now getting more confident and inclined to have a go, I know it's a terri ers thing especially with 2 bitches but wondered if anyone has got any ideas other than keep them apart!!

Hi. I've had problems with my terriers from mites, fleas & ticks. Have used Frontline, but it has immunity problems, also Stronghold is good, but Advocate is the best as does EVERYTHING except tapeworm, worked well with terrier with cat flea allergy (rescued it from cats!!!) :welcomeani:

Lakies are brilliant bushers but do tend to be a bit bloody minded when it comes to sharing prey, but I suspect that with the right training a lakie would be brilliant, good with people but can be jealous of other dogs, mind you I am a bit prejudiced as I have two cracking lakies!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone suggest the best reasonably priced terrier boxes, I have three terriers, two of which travel together ok but the other terrier(bitch pup 6 months) is not tolerated too well by the bitch 7 years old so I need to travel them separately, I did see someone advertising boxes on this site when I first looked at it but I cant remember how I found it!! Would also like any help regarding fighting amongst terriers (6month old Patterdale bitch & 7 year old Lakie bitch) I know it's a tendency for terriers to fight but would like any advice.

Thnakyou very much for your reply It seems that my Patterdale is of more a broken coat type but she certainly repels mud, do they like water as much as Lakies, she seems more inclined to paddle or jump rather than throw herself in like the lakies do!!

Thanks very much for reply My terrier is so called Nuttal but I have to speak to the breeder to be sure as the person who gave me the terrier (a little cracker, even if hard work) didn't have a clue about any terrier let alone working lines!!!! She is a nice person who thought that little dogs meant little work!! I think I have a good dog just needs a bit of training, understanding,And sociallising. Thanks shellfish Where are you from? I'm in South Glos

Hi thanks for message.I'm new to this so any help is useful, I'm mostly trying to find the meaning of slape coat, I guess it's a north country term. I'm a South Glouecestershire lass!!

Can anybody describe to me exactly what is meant by a slape coated dog, is it rough, smooth, broken coated or a mixture I have lakies but have just been given a patterdale that was bought by someone who did not understand terriers mindset, and when I was reading Sean Frains book on Patterdales he mentions slape coated, a term I have not come across before. Please advise, thanks
