  1. Well how wierd that this thread has been bought back to the front again...!!! The truth is, I Gave up on my pup when he was around 18 month old...... And i have to say now..."I WAS WRONG" I rehomed him to a relative of a lad who has one of the other pups, and i rehomed him as a rabbit lamping dog as i did`nt believe that he had it in him for anything else, A shame really as he was a good dog in all other ways, good coat, feet, decent speed good turn, and was very easy to train.... However His new owner texed me the other day to let me know "HOW WELL" he is now doing, So i think i
  2. Why do you ask....????? Mars
  3. I remember the thread you put up at the time, And i seem to remember i was quite critical at the time too... But well done for sticking with it, and perhaps the terrier going missing has helped Perhaps it was the terrier that was creating the tension within the pack..... Mars...
  4. Was chatting to a bloke just this morning, who stopped to chat about my dogs.... He was saying that the best lurcher he`d ever owned was a 3/4 Grey 1/4 Lab Mars...
  5. I think that 1st you need to ask yourself, is she really worth breeding from, try to be honest with your self and if she has any faults even though they may be minor, You perhaps need to look for the sire to not have those faults.. Is your bitch Ideal for the work that you do and will you be using the planned pup for the same type of work A lot of people have mentioned a dash of terrier blood to add some fire, i agree but terrier blood also adds brains and ease to train, as terriers just want to please their owners, a bull whippet type perhaps, Good luck and well done for sounding out othe
  6. I would`nt call that a Sat Nav Blunder.... I`de say that was a Massive Plus For the sat nav..
  7. " Is That You " ????? What the betting this threads replys goes into 3 pages at least...lol.. Mars...
  8. Have you got the ground to go on...?? A lot of lads {Me included} are particular who they take on their ground, good luck getting your dog going... Mars..
  9. Lets hope the new comitiee is not so "Anti" Bull X
  10. I`me glad your garden is getting trashed too.... She`s settled in well and loves tug of war with the Bull Crosses, She is difficult to tire out... so all good so far
  11. my bitch is a whippet bull greyhound 21 inch put to powels pocket rocket denzil Very nice bitch, and a good age to slowly start at the backend of this season, This is my own Bull/Grey X Whippet 25" to the sholder
  12. Over the years that i`ve been on this and other forums, In lots of threads and topics you read the phrase " Yeah this lad or that lad used to own that dog"....!!!! It`s was fecking awesome would nail anything you slipped it on, of it was a four out of four daytime dog, And more often than not the dog has had multiple owners.... Now i understand that sometimes "Shit Happens" in life and you have to part with your world beaters I will hold my hands up and admit that i have moved dogs on, but only if they hav`nt made the grade for me, and whoever i`ve sold the dog on to i`ve been totally s
  13. The coat is a double edged sword though,i was watching a half cross run the weekend, first night was cool, but the second although windy was mild, and the dog was getting warm.I would say that unless you were in a very cold part of the country, the coat would be a disadvantage, most of the time. I tend to agree to some extent with you weasle,.... Though that could be said of almost any breed, My own Now ageing Bull X will seek out a pond or stream when out lamping some nights, So I.M.O. not just a problem for rough coated breeds...
  14. Mine to has the look of an Airedale in her head... Although i`me begining to to think that mine must be part mole, going by how my garden looks.... Keep in touch it will be good to see how each others pups get on... Yis Mars..
  15. A lad on here had a 1st cross Airedale/Grey, that i saw at work, we were out all day in some shit weather, and we got thoroughly soaked and bloody cold, the dog with it`s inherited Airedale coat was fine,!!! It was a useful dog to have around on a dig too, sadly he does`nt have the dog anymore I have been lucky enough to get one of Skycats pups, A 1st cross Airedale, right now she is only 11 weeks old but i`me impressed, Already she has sussed Sit, Stay, retreiving is coming on great and no problems walking on a lead, She has endless energy and is happily destroying my lawn as i type,
  16. No Sniper his name is Scud Is that the dog that covered an Airedale bitch last year? I`de like to hear and mabey see some pics of that cross Mars...
  17. Although Alan626 has made his point in perhaps a sarcastic manner, i do tend to agree with what he`s trying to say, It`s a dog when all`s said and done and your putting human emotions on it, if the dog is faffing about with it`s food, Take it`s food away and feed it the next day, it will eat when it`s hungry enough And the dogs state of mind is down to what you allow it to be, No offence meant just my opinion. Mars.
  18. Well if i was you i would`nt belive half the bullshit you read on here either... As for the countrymans weekly, Yes it was a better mag when it was Shooting news, but then it did`nt have the restraints of todays hunting regulations And although i enjoy reading about a lurchers day/night out or a days ratting by this or that terrier, you can only read so many accounts of a day out with the dogs before it all becomes repetative.. I for one like to read about other forms of hunting or pest control Also as i dont do any hunting during the summer months the C/weekly has a good list of show
  19. Muddy dog in the above pic is.......... 1/2 Whippet 1/4 Grey 1/4 Bull He`s around 25" never weighed him but i reckon around 28kg, he does ok, fast enough, game enough, and his obedience is "ok" !!!! Also quite a good nose on him.... Dam Bull x Grey Sire Whippet Yis Mars...
