The pups are owned by mates, i couldn`t say weather their any quicker than a ped whippet, but their prey drive has to be seen to be belived, the bitch pup has done ok in the show ring And Yes Simoman, i didn`t take a lamp just tokk the Devil Eyes Bull X

Well done mate, Them pups are the same as my dog, Hes 15 months now. Mine turned out very racey and so did yours, Any idea what height and weight they are? The bitch pup on the right is about 21" and the dog pup on the left is about 23" dont know about weight but as you say quite racey, just as game as their mam though. Yis Mars.

Out last night for a couple of hours lamping, this is on some permission we`ve worked regular so not a big haul in fact only one rabbit each, the rabbits on here are getting a bit lamp shy, so some long slips and some entertaining ones. In the center is my bitch Bull X and the other two are pups {13 month} from her 1st/last litter. pups ars 1/2 whippet 1/4 Grey 1/4 Bull, and are fast becoming as good as their mam at lamping. Sorry about the glare on the eyes, dont know how to fix it

in the past when i used to own terriers, right from being young pups i would make sure they were mad for chasing a ball, i would find an unocupied earth and let the pup chase the ball down the earth, i.m.o this teaches the pup that going to ground is fun, then as they got older they would be listening to older terriers at work, then allowed to rag the end product, till eventualy seeing the stuff themselves by this time going to ground was part of going for a walk. Like others have said though dogs start at different ages. Good luck yis Mars.

Been reading a few topics, and lots of answers will say take it to the vets, sensible answer :whistle: The whoke point of this thread is. Can you recomend a good vet i.e. one that understands that working dogs get some nocks :whistle: Yis Mars. Forgot to add i`me in Staffordshire, should anyone know a good vet down my way.

YES IT IS MATE CHUNKX GREYHOUND Chunk X Greyhound. ? It`ll be slowly on entering her so no worries on that score, she seems to be quite a timid bitch so slowly is the best way i.m.o. She is getting some shape about her now though, mostly free running exersise though, i know a lot of people swear by roadwork, but just trudgeing the roads with a dog on lead bores me senseless :whistle: much prefer to see a dog running free and takeing in it`s suroundings by scent n sight and socolising with other dogs. Yis Mars.

Probably a loaded question, and one thats probably been asked before on these boards. Just interested in peoples thoughts thats all. Would you say for instance start a beddlington x whippet younger than you would a collie x greyhound or a deerhound x greyhound. Does the breed/type of dog make a difference or is it down to the individual character or maturity of each dog. I heard it said that bitches start easier/quicker than dogs. Would you if possible start them on mixy bunnies, would you start them on ferreted bunnies. The bitch above is a 6 month old Bull X {from samba}

This is a better pic of her i think. I thought you`d called her socks cos of her 4 white feet.{ is`nt their some old wives tale about white feet on a dog} she took a shine to my socks the first night i had her so i made them into a ball and she now retrives socks {smelly,lol} to hand.

Mine was £19:50 as an aprentice fabricator welder. six month later got the sack for beating up the bosses nephew Spent a lot of it on a pottery figure of a staffy bull so that i would always have summat to remember my first weeks wages by. I couldnt drink enough to blow the rest, you could get 4 pints for a quid in them days Yis Mars.

a mate of mine had a real good bitch kc reg and the lot took till she was 3 tot urn on but when she did she was 100% markin fox huntin rabbit and could dispatch a fox her self on her own either at hole end or on top but she not catch them so they put a grayhound dog to her that was also a good dog a bit hard for his own good but still good to bred from he is good on everything apart from hare...
