This is a question that is frequently gets asked, when really i think you should be asking yourself what type/breeding of dog would suit Your personality, I.E. terrier types are normally more forgiving, and your collie types are more sensitive, i know that individual dogs personalities will differ but as a general rule of thumb perhaps this is something you should consider, as for size, yes the smaller whippet types should be better as they are quick of the mark... Good luck with whatever you choose, will it be a pup you`ll be getting to start Next season..??? Yis Mars...

I get the mince from the local pet shop... Sounds to me like your doing ok anyway, some people reckon Pasta, and tripe is a good way to Bulk up. perhaps that is worth a try.. Yis Mars...

Your gonna get people saying, Barf !!!! it`s the only and best way, And barf is good, but hey it`s a free world, Here`s what i do, and mine dont struggle with holding weight.. to much if anything... A sack of complete food around £8 and dog mince for 20p a lb . they get the mince with complete food as a mixer, they get chicken once a week, and probably a stew once per week, useing the pet mince, and whatever veg i`ve got in, they get garlic in their food regular too... Yis Mars....

These people who just show their dogs, are just as entitled to a day out as you are, !!!!! Why should it affect the way you work your dog.??? at least now you know to avoid buying a pup from those people you spoke to, and they were decent enough to tell you that they only show their dogs..... Or Perhaps it was that they didn't want to advertise their dogs abilities to a total stranger, Yis Mars....

Thanks for the compliment Bedlingtonman.. But it seems that people on here type that they only buy from parents that are bred worker to worker, It seems that they don't buy,!!!! as two of these pups are still for Sale, I cant emphasize enough the qualities of the parents, especially the sire {which i bred} i`ve seen him tackle anything his dam has, and as good as she has.. Also buying a pup now is ideal for Next Season, which gives you time to do your bit to bring the pup on... Mars..

Glad to hear, that everyone is ok..., that stretch of the M6 seems to get it`s fair share of accidents, but how weird that on a hunting website i should see my old place of work mentioned, !!!! i used to work at waterworld as a lifeguard.... Mars...

I didn't mean just treats, swamp rat.... I meant that the van is the only place it can eat, i.e. meal times put it`s food in the van, until the dog associates the van with food, "good things" until the dog sees it as normal to get in the van... Mars...

From the way you write you seem like a youngster, my advice to you would be "Don't Buy The Dog" if your that impatient to get out and do a bit, get out with other lads and their dogs, And you should buy a pup from Known working parents, train it yourself, then in 12 months time you can show off to your mates how well you`ve trained your dog, more satisfying for you and you`ll get more respect doing it your way, rather than buying someone else's F@ck ups..... Think about it why else would someone be selling a good lamping dog with the season right upon us.... Mars...
