  10. few years ago when I only had six pound a week spare for food thats exactly what I did do,, myself and my two /three year old ate what the dog caught, fur or feather,, one duck could last three meals, one rabbit could last four,, i was able to exchange meat for eggs from a lady round the corner, and i'd get fresh veg from up the road,, joys of living in a village i suppose! managed to get HUGE bags of rice from london when visiting family for pence and I made my own bread.. ironically those days were probably the best we ever ate, all fresh produce cooked simply. however i will admit when she
  11. these early morning school runs are a shock to the system!! lol nice welcome though x

  12. done but curious why you chose only the hunting side of things in regards to the ban,,, a good buddy of mine pointed out that the countryside alliance are focused only on the hounds element and if it got lifted to working hounds but not lurchers and terriers that would probably be settled,, not trying to start any trouble at all mate just curious all the very best with your work, thanks for bringing in hunting in a good light, more people the better x x x
  13. somewhere me and my dad were always going to go but never made, I always watch it plus my daughter loves it all too,, i'll try and see if theres any offers going, perhaps a coach package could be cheaper,, funny i used to sell race horse pics in london irish pubs yet never seemed able to get to cheltenham this year is my year!! :boogie: tony mccoy has been my fav from when i first saw him eight years ago!! lol i love his nerve and style of riding,, never afraid to get knocked and ready to get back when he does!! horse wize there is a few with my eye on, some very good lookers being

  16. f**k that!!!! i like snakes but thats just wrong the oddest thing i've come accross whilst out ferreting was a little owl thank goodness amazing how different hunting is depending on the country, it didn't even occur to me you done ferreting during winter because of your wet seasons, i know lurcher work is a different ball game to that here and the laws are soo much better
  17. right off for a shine :) x x

  18. well said mate!!! i used to get a plastic FULL of meat from my old butcher for 50pence, have another i go to now from time to time get 1 1/2 lb of mixed minced raw meat for 34pence, i'll give her some cod liver oil and some veg scraps and she's flying, its not difficult,, recently seen a pup a friend rescued back that hadn't been fed properly for two weeks! now the poor thing is probably ruined but is looking better each time i see her so fingers crossed, but its just pointless all the best fallow buck xx

  20. roasted goat, cover in butter, garlic and cracked black pepper wrap in tin foil and bake in oven for as long as you can on 180 perferably until meat is falling off bone, usually 6 hours, this is bloody tasty!!! stew, dice your meat, add onions, root veg etc and cook as long as poss serve with mash, cabbage and gravy yummy!! OR my daughters favourite; billy pie, make your own pastry or buy ready made, dice meat and fry until brown add stock, onions and mushrooms heat until cooked, then add to pastry and bake mmmmm hope these help!!
  21. hello there! I've been working lurchers for the last 8 years, started out on london marshes with a friends whippet cross and went from there.. Im still very happy with my dogs and never plan to move away from this but I have been considering for some time now about taking up an air rifle or similar, but i'll be honest i haven't a clue on this sort of thing,, I would be using it for ducks and water fowl, possibly crow and woodies too, gives me something to do during the summer, provides more meat for the table and keeps ferrets fed too!!! had a little play at clays and enjoyed it!! the
